Hello Northtours! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. Given your user name "Northtours", and its similarity to North Tours LLC in Dubai, is it a fair guess that you are connected with that group? In that case, I also encourage you to read Project:Welcome, business owners. A tricky line to follow here is how to give information about tours etc. that is factual and useful to travellers, without turning it into unwanted advertising. Project:Don't tout has some good guidance on this balance. (WT-en) JimDeLaHunt 03:03, 30 July 2008 (EDT)

North Tours LLC listings edit

I see you've added links to the North Tours LLC tours in Dubai#Do. I'd love to see good listings for desert safaris or Dubai tours or whatever, but what you just added isn't quite it. For a start, you put your edits right in the middle of another listing. I've backed out your changes and I encourage you to try again. Make each listing about one activity, use the Project:Activity listings tag "<do...></do>", include factual info like addresses, phone numbers, and prices, and leave out the excessive sales language. I see you added an article named "Dubai Desert Tours". Wikivoyage doesn't have articles for individual attractions, we have articles for destinations. See Project:What is an article?. I've deleted this page. If you want to list the desert tour, please make it an Project:Activity listings in Dubai#Do. (WT-en) JimDeLaHunt 03:03, 30 July 2008 (EDT)

I see you added two images, Image:Safari1.jpg and Image:Safari3.jpg. I want to double-check that this is what you intended. Everything posted here, text or image, is licensed freely so that others can reuse it. That means anyone. See Wikivoyage:Copyleft. Are you comfortable with a competitor using these images to illustrate a listing for their desert safari? If so, great. Please read Wikivoyage:Copyleft#What do I need to do to get uploading images? for instructions on how to upload these to the correct location. If you didn't intend to license these images so that even your competitors can use them, then see Project:How to delete a page for instructions on how to delete them. If you have questions, feel free to post them here. I'm monitoring here, and I will probably answer you soon. Or, ask in the Project:Travellers' pub. Again, welcome to Wikivoyage. I hope you can help us improve our coverage of Dubai and elsewhere. (WT-en) JimDeLaHunt 03:03, 30 July 2008 (EDT)
