Hello! Welcome to Wikivoyage. Thanks for your contributions so far, especially with respect to images and the Logo contest. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub. -- (WT-en) Paul James Cowie 11:33, 23 Jul 2005 (EDT)
- Thanks, it's nice to be here! I love the wiki concept (I've been a contributor to WP from time to time) and I think a travel guide is just what it needs. When I'm feeling more energetic, I might contribute some textual content. I'm from York and live in Manchester, so they would probably be good places to start!
Paris Map
editHi. I've started layering the paris map so that it's easier on the memory and cpu, and have also uploaded a style guide.

I hope it helps a little.

- Excellent, thanks. Although I'm still stuck for some satellite imagery. The NASA thing (Windoze only, but found a web-based repository of the same data) doesn't show sufficient detail for UK cities but it is, as you guessed, public domain. I'm still not sure there can be anything illegal about tracing over Google's satellite imagery, since all I'm doing is creating a facsimile of the real street layouts... any idea how that could be wrong? -- (WT-en) Owl 10:34, 19 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- I don't know. I've been trying to find something/anything on the subject online, and so far haven't. -- (WT-en) Mark 10:47, 19 Aug 2005 (EDT)
