editHi PV,
In reply to your email, about why I removed your edit to the Sleep section.
The Wikivoyage manual of style (eg Project:Big_city_article_template#Sleep) calls for the accommodation price categories to be Budget, Mid-range, and Splurge. Changing Budget to Hostel doesn't fit that, and changing Midrange to Budget further confuses things. I couldn't see any discussion on the Talk pages to back up why you'd reinstated the edits after Sertmann removed them, so I hit the "undo" button to revert your edit.
The image of the budget hotels table causes concern because it looks as though it may be copyrighted material, and the image hasn't got any details of ownership or release. Is it your own work?
Sorry if this has seemed unfriendly. It definitely wasn't intended so. So many people make random poor changes to articles that it is easy to fall into the habit of just making changes without adding a full discussion. Especially when the edit has come from someone who hasn't any track record of bona fide edits. Sorry for not giving my reasons in the first place.
I see you've reinstated the change of Budget to Hostel; I'm going to undo that now as per the manual of style.
I hope this doesn't put you off contributing; it looks like you've both enthusiasm and information to contribute. But do expect to get your work edited a little as you get to grips with the standards in use here. If I can help I will.
Cheers. (WT-en) Andyfarrell 02:19, 6 January 2010 (EST)
- You're welcome. By the way, when you write on a Talk page you can sign your posts by writing four tildes at the end, which will insert your name and the datestamp. (WT-en) Andyfarrell 10:12, 6 January 2010 (EST)
