Hello! Welcome to Wikivoyage. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.
You might also want to read over Project:External links to find out about how we link to other sites. Hope you enjoy the site! --(WT-en) Majnoona 14:59, 8 Jul 2004 (EDT)
Armenian heritage itinerary
editHello, I reverted your addition of a link to your google maps itinerary for sites of Armenian heritage in Central/Eastern Europe, because it violates our external links policy. But that looks like a really worthwhile itinerary—is there any chance I could convince you to write up a Wikivoyage-style itinerary for it? A good example of a completed Wikivoyage itinerary article is Route 66, if you are interested! --(WT-en) Peter Talk 00:25, 25 July 2008 (EDT)
Style tags
editOK, I had a look at some of the articles you mentioned and here are some general pointers.
- Yerevan contains a lot of non-standard section headers like Money, Language, Mobile phones, etc. We try to stick to the headers in the article templates. If you're not sure where something should go, please check there first, and also the article Where you can stick it. Beyond that, (and this is not so much a style issue) it would be nice if you could provide address, phone number and other information for listings so travellers can find the places you're talking about.
- Region articles - These are in pretty good shape overall, except for the See listings, which should be bulleted listings rather than a separate subsection for each. You can check how I changed the first few listings of Central Armenia to see an example.
Thanks for your work on these articles! Keep it up! (WT-en) Texugo 04:59, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
It sounds like this is a situation in which it might be useful to create itineraries. Go ahead and make separate bulleted listings for the attractions, and then you can either create mini-itineraries in the Get around section, or if enough things can be clumped together, you can create itinerary articles to show the easiest ways to see everything.(WT-en) Texugo 01:28, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
