Hello!

Welcome to Wikivoyage. You can edit your preferences to change how the software works for you. Please take a second to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you're new to our wiki software, MediaWiki, look at the Wiki markup to get an idea of how to edit a page. If you need help, check out the help desk, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

Two favors to ask: we usually upload images to our shared image repository (see commons:Special:Upload, you can log in with your Wikivoyage en: account using wts:Special:OpenIDLogin). Second, it helps a lot if you put some information on the provenance of the images, like, "Taken by me" or "Downloaded from Web site X". Thanks a lot! --(WT-en) evanp 13:23, 15 January 2007 (EST)

Welcome edit

Wikus, welcome. Good to see more South Africans joining. Were you on the cast of Stander ?

Some things to keep in mind on wikivoyage:

  • Guard against copyright infringements, we need to keep wikivoyage legal and fresh.
  • We do from time to time get South Africans that spam pages related to the region with links to external pages of their own travel outfits. Simply remove these links if they smell of spam.

Hangout@Mt. Emily edit

Welcome to Wikivoyage and thanks for your edits! Just a note to explain why I removed your listing of Hangout@Mt. Emily from the main Singapore page: you can already find it under Singapore/Little India, and for 'huge' cities like Sing the main page should not contain specific listings. Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is starting to look good. Nice work on those maps. --(WT-en) NJR_ZA 23:56, 27 February 2007 (EST)

Wiki markup edit

If you're having trouble with wiki markup you may want to read over Project:Wiki markup, which may be helpful. Also to sign your name type four tildes (~) and it will magically show up. Cheers. -- (WT-en) Sapphire(Talk) • 02:11, 28 February 2007 (EST)

Animals edit

If you have a moment, would you add the animals from Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park to African flora and fauna as well? Generally we will just list them with short descriptions in the park pages, while African flora and fauna should be a bit more verbose. You will see that the right navigation bar on Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park contains a related pages link to African flora and fauna. --(WT-en) NJR_ZA 02:54, 28 February 2007 (EST)
