Colorado's Wine Country

Really impressive work today! One note, we only allow a maximum of nine other destinations in the type of list appearing at Colorado#Other destinations, so I have removed the link you placed there (also, travel topics should not appear in that section, per Project:Region article template). I did however, add a related tag to Colorado, which adds a link to Colorado's Wine Country in the left sidebar. I think it would be appropriate to add similar related tags to the articles linked at Colorado's_Wine_Country#Wine_Regions. And I'll third it — what a great article! Thanks for your hard work on it. My only concern is this photo. Do you have a model release for those two people? Our image policy prohibits identifiable people without a model release, so it might be better to use a photo similar to the others you've uploaded instead. Thanks for uploading the Palisade map, but please clarify the permission to state that the copyright is held by the Chamber of Commerce and they license it under Creative Commons -- this means not just Wikivoyage but anybody can use it, as long as they credit the creator. Self-policing

Thanks for the self-policing! If you'd like to include more information about your inn on Wikivoyage feel free to add some info to your user page, but thanks for limiting the listings in the main article space - the Project:Don't tout policy is a tough one to police since so many contributors come here to promote their businesses, and while we don't want to chase anyone off we also don't want articles to turn into a mess of advertisements. In any case, thanks for the cleanups and for your many great edits; I'm hopeful that I'll have some time this weekend to review your work a bit more closely as our coverage of Colorado has been lacking and you've done a great job of improving that situation! -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 17:08, 16 January 2009 (EST)

Since I should have one listing in one place, I chose Colorado's Wine Country. The listing can go in Palisade, instead, if you'd like. Either way is fine with me. (WT-en) WineCountryInn 22:55, 16 January 2009 (EST)

It's totally fine to have a listing for a business in the article about the town in which it is located, so listing your inn in the Palisade article (provided the inn is located there) is OK. Travel topics are a bit of a special case, so if your inn is relevant to the Colorado's Wine Country topic then a double-listing is probably justified. The Project:Don't tout policy exists to instruct overzealous contributors not to spam the site with listings, which isn't something that you're in any way guilty of. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 23:24, 16 January 2009 (EST)

Yeah, I was going to say.. Any listing that is on the wine country page must be listed also on the individual city pages. I noticed that if you look at the Paonia article there are practically no Sleep entries at all, but on the wine country page there are several. The city page is the place for all. If they are repeated in the travel topic article, then they are repeated (not really a fan of this concept either), but they must be listed in the individual destination articles. Agritourism

USA Images

I think the size difference between a horizontal image 200 and 250 pixel picture is pretty negligible, probably 2-3 kilobyes, so I don't think that's much of a concern. Besides personally I care more about keeping page sizes down for guides in undeveloped countries, where people are much more likely to be accessing the guide on a low speed internet connection, than in Europe, North America or North-East Asia. But If you think the vertical images have become to dominant feel free to size them down a bit. --(WT-en) Stefan (sertmann) ^Talk 13:39, 17 February 2009 (EST)

Nice to see you back in these parts! My girlfriend and I actually made a stop in Palisade last September, partly due to the contributions you've made here. We didn't come home with any wine, but given a few more years I could definitely see your corner of the world becoming a competitor to the places we've got here in California.
