Hello, Eroy1998! Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage, but please note that one or more of your recent edits has been reverted as it appeared to be an attempt to use this site to advertise or promote a business or service. Wikivoyage is created by travellers for travellers, and while business owners and employees are welcome to contribute, use of this site for promotional purposes is not allowed.

If you feel that your edits were incorrectly identified as promotional, please read Wikivoyage's guidelines on identifying promotional edits. If, after reading that guideline, you still feel your edits were incorrectly removed, please use this talk page or the talk page of the article where your edit was removed to explain why your change was not promotional. Note that it is very important that you discuss your proposed change before re-adding it since repeated promotional edits can lead to a temporary block of your account's ability to edit Wikivoyage, and in serious cases the business in question may be blacklisted from Wikivoyage. This is Eroy1998. Sir, you've deleted 'Chilapata' page that I've recently created. Apologies if you felt that the content was promotional. The truth is I wasn't familiar with the guidelines of Wikivoyage. I'm sorry. I didn't know that a link to a single page is not allowed multiple times. I'm not a business owner, but a traveller, with a slight inclination towards a particular resort that I've stayed at, in Chilapata. Chilapata wildlife sanctuary is an important travel destination, but hasn't got much awareness like its nearby destinations (example, Jaldapara National Park). You can google it if you want to check. It really needs a page of its own, and the sad part is nobody has taken the initiative to do so. If I keep my tone neutral and unbiased, am I allowed to re-create 'Chilapata' page?

Eroy1998 It seems you mistook my politeness, and apology, in the wrong way. Its a genuine urge to create a page for a wildlife sanctuary. If you've read my message, I've already admitted that I wasn't quite familiar with the guidelines of Wikivoyage. I'm new to it. Even replying back to you in this talk page, is something that I've just learnt in the process. But, now I do. And, thanks to you for letting me know. I haven't re-created 'Chilapata' page that you've deleted, because I'm willing to take your approval before doing it and ofcourse, this time, in sync with wikivoyage guidelines. As you're an old member of Wikivoyage and know much more than me, I wanted to seek your approval. Kindly donot misjudge or mistreat me.

  • I'm not judging nor mistreating, only upholding WV policy. The article, as it was, is unacceptable per WV:Tone and Don't tout. Too much flowery promotional prose. Too many links to "Chilapata homestay" only, and the text seems to have been copied verbatim from this website, which is unacceptable per WV:Copyleft. Please read these policies thoroughly, and then try again, with NO promotional talk, and NO LINKS WHATSOEVER. Maybe it could gain consensus, and stand. Again, happy editings Ibaman (talk) 17:05, 16 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Eroy1998 Okay Ibaman. As I said earlier, I'll try my best to abide by Wikivoyage guidelines and would go through all the links that you've mentioned above, regarding tout and flowery language. Would just expect some respect and kindness from your side. If you find anything that is not in sync with wikivoyage guidelines, or something that needs to be modified or changed for the better, kindly inform me via this talk page. I would be happy to change it. But please don't delete the entire page in one go, because, it feels demoralizing. That's all.

Would you please, please, please read read the policy? Every day, four or five touts will try to insert links to "taxi luxury services" and "luxury resorts" on the articles of Chandigarh and Mumbai and Goa and Jaipur and Agra and Delhi and whatnot. It's hard to keep track of every non-compliant link on the entire website. All of them get reversed on sight, but someof them stay by accident. Don't get me wrong but you really sound like an employee of said "particular resort" trying to use Wikivoyage for advertisement. I'd like to point out that, in the page Gorumara_National_Park, there is no flowery promotional language describing the place as "an ultimate wonder of natural beauty" and such stuff, which is even more frowned upon on Wikivoyage than non-compliant links. • Eroy1998 I've re-created the page 'Chilapata' this time following the guidelines of wikivoyage. I have removed multiple links, tried to avoid flowery language, and also tried my best to avoid words not liked by wikivoyage. Please check it. If you feel there is still a problem or something needs to be changed, tell me. I'll be happy to change it. Thanks Eroy1998 (talk) 15:49, 17 March 2020 (UTC)Eroy1998Reply
