Hello, Fgf10! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Hi! Thank you for editing at WV. I had to revert your edit about the Netherlands. Yes, you are correct that Holland is not the official name but we encourage living writing and not long explainations. I suggest you do the change in the country article. Long explanations? Two words? it's possible to be both accurate and succinct. -- Alice 08:22, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Indeed, that's nonsense argument. Anyway, while it's not great, the current version using 'metonymically' will do for now until this is properly sorted out. No need to perpetuate this ignorant and insulting old-fashioned usage. Fgf10 (talk) 14:46, 17 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello! edit

Welcome to Wikivoyage!

Thank you for your great contributions to our Netherlands articles.

To help you contribute, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about our policies and guidelines and our house style as well as some important information on the way your contributions will be licensed and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

However, even more important than following every guideline is to PLUNGE FORWARD and write something useful – someone might be along to help with the proper formatting later!

Add your home town, or a place you know well or write some insider tips - but don't use first person pronouns.

If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. We're looking forward to seeing you again here on Wikivoyage! -- Alice 07:57, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
