Kaffiend
Hello, Kaffiend! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.AHeneen (talk) 05:59, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
Hello!
editThank you for your contributions to our Singapore article.
Even more important than following every guideline is to PLUNGE FORWARD and write something useful – someone might be along to help with the proper formatting later.
We're looking forward to seeing you again here on Wikivoyage! -- Alice✉ 09:27, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Alice! It's great to see the vast improvement on wikivoyage compared to when I was using wikitravel extensively a year or two back.
From comments on other talk pages, I sense there is a bit of shock from the number of editors coming over from other Wiki sites since the banner ads etc started. Is that being discussed anywhere?
- The deluge of new contributions was expected and is desired—growing our contributor base is and has been our number one priority, and was one of the top reasons for moving to the WMF. So just ignore any grumbliness from admins who have spent too many hours patrolling today ;) --Peter Talk 03:32, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
