India - "suppressed "Some travellers suggest crushing used plastic bottles...": quite silly" thanks, atlast some one other than me found it out of place :)! (WT-en) Srijith 20:40, 20 Jan 2004 (EST)

Welcome Yann!

edit

Hey Yann, welcome aboard Wikivoyage! I noticed that you have been quite busy with the Overland Europe to South Asia article. I think it can grow into a great article. Keep on adding, I'd say! Cheers. (WT-en) DhDh 03:42, 21 Jan 2004 (EST)

Double pages

edit

Yann, please verify if a page doesn't already exist when creating a new one: South-Asia -> South Asia. Thanks. (WT-en) DhDh 08:38, 22 Jan 2004 (EST)

Ah yes, but it is sometimes written with a hyphen, sometimes without. (WT-en) Yann 08:44, 22 Jan 2004 (EST)

French Wikivoyage Expedition

edit

So, I had a friend here in Montreal offer to help with the Expedition, which makes the fifth person (he should be signed up later today). So it might be a good idea for us to start the translation process. See the Expedition page for details. --(WT-en) Evan 14:25, 5 Feb 2004 (EST)

I'm leaving in a few minutes for Bible study, so I can't look at it right now. -(WT-en) phma 08:59, 21 Feb 2004 (EST)

Maps, flags

edit

So, with few exceptions, most of the flags and maps from the CIA world factbook already exist on Wikivoyage. Most of the maps were removed from the pages so we could make real maps according to the Project:Mapmaking Expedition.

Could you double-check that files aren't already on Wikivoyage before uploading them? (One quick way is to look in the page history for a country page, to see when it was "defactbookized". The (WT-en) CIAWorldFactbook2002 user was used to import most of the factbook stuff, so look for versions made by that user.

Lastly, please put copyright information on image pages when they're uploaded. --(WT-en) Evan 11:36, 7 Mar 2004 (EST)

Europe

edit

Hey, could you check the talk on Talk:Europe and Talk:Europe/Hierarchy ? I noticed you're plunging forward (and it needs to get done!) but I just want to make sure everyone's on the same page before overhauling Europe. thanks! (WT-en) Majnoona 20:34, 22 Mar 2004 (EST)

Bermuda (EN) and Bermudes (FR)

edit

Hi Yann. I note that you have linked the Bermuda article on the EN Wikivoyage with Bermudes on the FR Wikivoyage. Which seems ok at first, but the FR article says "Les Bermudes sont un archipel des Caraïbes dépendant du Royaume-Uni" whilst Bermuda is definately not in the Caribbean. I suspect this is an error in the FR page but my french is not good enough to correct it; or it could be Bermudes is not the same place. Any chance of clarifying?. In the meantime I've removed the link as it is misleading. -- (WT-en) Chris j wood 08:25, 4 Sep 2004 (EDT)

So Image:France-cities.png says "free of rights" yet the actual image has a copyright stamp in it, which negates that claim. Can you clarify this at all? -- (WT-en) Colin 15:59, 3 Jan 2005 (EST)
