Wikivoyage talk:Microformats
Scope
editI'd like to keep this page focused on Wikivoyage's support of uf's: what we already support or will support soon. If there are suggestions for new implementations, they should either go on the appropriate talk pages or on wts:technical requests. I think that descriptions of particular uf's should be left up to http://microformats.org/ -- this isn't the place for it. --(WT-en) Evan 17:57, 25 November 2006 (EST)
- See my recent comment on your talk page. The descriptions are limited to only what's needed to set context - and answer the questions which you yourself raised. (WT-en) Andy Mabbett 18:01, 25 November 2006 (EST)
Suggestions and ideas
editI've moved the following suggestions and ideas from the project page to this discussion page. --(WT-en) Evan 18:03, 25 November 2006 (EST)
- You've also - again - wiped my text about Geo. (WT-en) Andy Mabbett 18:11, 25 November 2006 (EST)
hReview
edithReview could be used to mark up opinions of, say, restaurants or pubs. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) Pigsonthewing (talk • contribs)
- Actually, we don't have opinionated reviews on Wikivoyage. We strive for objective, consensus content. So this probably won't happen. --(WT-en) Evan 18:04, 25 November 2006 (EST)
- Fair enough, but that's not how pages I've read come across. (WT-en) Andy Mabbett 18:07, 25 November 2006 (EST)
hAtom
edithAtom is used for marking up "feeds". (WT-en) Andy Mabbett
Wikipedia and rel-tag
editWikipedia is a "name space" for rel-tag microformat. Any link to an article's corresponding Wikipedia article (leastways, those without punctuation in the final part) can safely be marked-up with a rel="tag" attribute. (WT-en) Andy Mabbett 16:51, 26 November 2006 (EST)
Microformats
editArchived from the Pub:
What's the best place to propose and discuss the use of hCard and Geo microformats in Wikivoyage? (WT-en) Pigsonthewing 07:39, 25 November 2006 (EST)
- Have a look at Project:RDF and Project:RDF Expedition. -- (WT-en) Ryan 13:21, 25 November 2006 (EST)
- Thanks. I've also caught up with Evan's work on microformats. I hope that Project:Microformats, which I've just created, will be useful. (WT-en) Andy Mabbett 16:02, 25 November 2006 (EST)
Are those still used?
editI just found them linked from somewhere with the "Porject" thingy, which is usually a dead giveaway for outdatedness on policy pages. Is this still a thing? Hobbitschuster (talk) 21:40, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
