The MRC of Acton administers a territory extending south of Drummondville, southeast of the A10 and southwest of the A55. The southern part of the MRC territory approaches the A10. Its primary vocation is agri-food and forestry, in this corner of the "Plaine du Saint-Laurent". The villages are charming and friendly. The entire territory of this MRC is dedicated to agriculture, except for many forest areas (or forest islands).

Three rivers cross the territory of the MRC: Noire River (Yamaska River), Duncan River, Le Renne River.

The main attractions of this MRC are:

  • its agritourism: each locality has agricultural producers offering their market garden or livestock products. Visitors can stop at market garden kiosks, market garden boutiques, some public markets, or refer to online stores. Some market gardeners offer u-pick and country tours. Some producers offer the concept of weekly vegetable baskets to their customers. Roxton has eight agricultural producers offering agritourism; and Saint-Théodore-d'Acton, six producers;
  • municipal sports facilities: each locality provides the public with sports fields (ball field, soccer, etc.). Acton Vale offers a multi-sport complex, with a ball stadium. Even small localities proudly have a community centre;
  • municipal sports and recreation programming: each locality displays dynamism through the variety of recreational activities offered throughout the year. These activity programs are the soul of the village. Community centres or recreation centres are full of local activities that visitors can take part in. In Roxton Falls (village) and Roxton (parish), sports and recreation services are organized jointly;
  • religious heritage: most of the buildings with religious purposes in the MRC also have community roles (community halls, or some multifunctional uses);
  • golf: the Acton Vale golf course attracts many golfers;
  • walking trails;
  • bike paths: Built on an old railway line and integrated into the Route Verte, the La Campagnarde trail connects the Centre-du-Québec and Eastern Townships regions via the Acton MRC. In addition, cycling on the country roads allows you to observe the rural scenery and the activity in the fields in all seasons. Cycling also allows you to observe modern agricultural buildings (tall silos, large, farm machinery shelters), as well as the farm machinery at work;
  • cross-country skiing and snowshoeing: considering the relatively flat territory of the Plaine du Saint-Laurent, with a few hills, the MRC is a suitable place for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing;
  • boat launch: Acton Vale offers a boat launch;
  • the magnificent Roxton Falls on the Noire River: a lookout overlooking the falls allows you to observe the force of the water as you cross the falls;
  • the 4M ranch in Roxton;
  • the rest stop on the north side of Highway 20 in Saint-Nazaire-d'Acton: this rest stop is popular with travelers on the A20 (westbound).
  • camping in Roxton Falls allows you to enjoy the summer and do outdoor activities.
