Category talk:Airport code pages missing

False positives

How is this list generated? To me it appears to produce a number of what seem to me false positives... Hobbitschuster (talk) 13:08, 19 August 2017 (UTC)

I am not sure why but there appears to be a delay between adding the code (redirect) page and the page with the code on it being removed from this category. It is generated on a page that uses the template {{IATA}}. If the airport code referenced does not have a Wikivoyage page (usually a redirect) then the page referencing that code is added to this list. Maybe after creation of the code page the article referencing it or the IATA template needs to be resaved to clean the category out. --Traveler100 (talk) 14:32, 19 August 2017 (UTC)

I also seem to have mistaken what this list does. I thought this list was to somehow detect places where airports are mentioned but their IATA codes are absent... Hobbitschuster (talk) 17:03, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
