Durant is in the Chickasaw Country region of Oklahoma. Teddy and Eleanor Roosevelt once spoke here, even though it was a sundown town. It gained impetus through the railroad and eventually became a major commerce area for the Choctaw Tribe, with their casino and other investments.

  • World's Largest Peanut Monument, 201 N 3rd Ave, disputed biggest-sized peanut statue, to pay respect to the lowly peanut farmer.
