All Caps edit

@Ikan Kekek: Why is it only my all caps that aren't part of "the style?" What about the Ramadi article, where I never really edited much, but there's all caps in the warningbox that the admin are completely fine with? What about Raniya, Baghdad, Kismayo, and Gedo? I didn't create the all caps there. Libertarianmoderate (talk) 17:27, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Good question, Libertarianmoderate; I know I didn't get the ping but I saw the recent changes and wanted to find out what was going on. Here's my guess: it's so much about the word NOT but more about the word THINK being in bold and all caps. But I'm not totally sure — maybe Ikan Kekek doesn't realize those other places you mentioned have warning boxes that don't fit with Wikivoyage style. Selfie City (talk) 17:35, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Libertarianmoderate, all policies on Wikivoyage were decided by consensus. If you'd like to argue for a policy change, simply start a thread on the talk page for the relevant policy page. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:41, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Libertarianmoderate: Also, just because something exists on Wikivoyage, it doesn't mean that it has been approved or is compliant with policy. There are about 28,500 articles in Wikivoyage, and a lot of them are not reviewed regularly because we don't have enough volunteers to do that. You'll find lots of style errors, touting, spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, and outdated material as you go through the articles. That's the nature of a crowd-sourced project. Editors are encouraged to keep an eye out for these things and clean them up when they find them. It's better to check the policies to find out what they say, than to assume that something is okay just because it is in some articles. I hope that helps. I've cleaned up the all caps mess in the articles you linked. Thanks. Ground Zero (talk) 20:04, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and I'll fix Darra Adam Khel myself. Thanks for fixing those other articles. Libertarianmoderate (talk) 23:09, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
