Hmm. I'd kinda think Cape Breton Island National Park would be a destination per Project:What is an article?. Any reason why not? --(WT-en) Evan 17:05, 15 Apr 2004 (EDT)

How about cities on Cape Breton? I.e., Baddeck may be big enough for its own destination. --(WT-en) elgaard 12:45, 26 Jun 2005 (EDT)

Static map

I spent the last two days trying to make this the best map I've possibly ever made, and this one's come close to it (I think my SEQ map is slightly better). I've tried to emphasize the difference in highways and road quality, which the dynamic map failed to do (apart from differntiating freeways to non-freeways). Other things I've included are the two ferry routes to Newfoundland. Any other improvements that could be made? All feedback is more than appreciated. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 00:30, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

And should I nominate this for QI on Commons? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 00:31, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
The image is now a QI on Commons. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 07:50, 21 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
One more note: all spellings used are the spellings used on OpenStreetMap (this is primarily in regard to Port-aux-Basques). SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 00:50, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Banner 0 (current)

Banner 1 (Bay St Lawrence)

Banner 2 (Cabot Trail)

Banner 3 (Cabot Trail)

Although representative of the island's hilly terrain (and the highlands in the northwest), I'm not too pleased with the look of the banner. Here are three alternatives I've cropped. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 10:10, 25 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • IDK how typical it is, but I'm a fan of the look of the Cabot Trail winding through the hills. On the other hand, who doesn't like a nice harbour? So, for me: 3 and 1 are about equal; 0 and 2 are both too grainy.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 10:23, 25 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I really like 2; the fog adds a sense of scale as the Cabot Trail disappears into the distance, and the shimmering ocean waves make the water a bit more lively. Banner 3 very nicely frames the scenic highway, but I miss the views of the Ocean (it's probably Canada's finest ocean drive, after all). Gregsmi11 (talk) 11:38, 25 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
