Garrison Motel
editUser:DaGizza deleted a place named Garrison Motel, because it was a "white supremacist motel".
I was surprised and shocked that such places would even exist, and went to their home page waiting to find something you wouldn't expect to find on a normal motel's website but found nothing.
Also looked at some reviews and found nothing, and started wondering what the problem was. But then ran into recent reviews on yelp — apparently the motel has a written policy of not welcoming Native American guests.
I think we should list the place (or otherwise mention it in the Sleep section) in order warn our readers that this place has a policy of discriminating against people, so that WV readers wouldn't inadvertently end up supporting a discriminating business.

- Or just leave it deleted and don't draw attention to it, per WV:Avoid negative reviews, as there's no shortage of sleep listings. It's not somewhere we should be promoting, but equally I have concerns that posting that note based on hearsay from Yelp that may not be accurate could get WV into legal trouble. --ThunderingTyphoons! - The policy is also discussed on some Facebook and Twitter pages, but maybe it's after all best to not mention the establishment at all — I reverted my recent addition to the article. ϒψιλον (talk) 16:12, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
- Indeed, and thanks. Removing all information also denies them any publicity via Wikivoyage - plenty of racist red hat-wearing freaks would consider the policy a plus, and would be queuing up to stay there. --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 16:20, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
