stay safe

edit

I deleted "; giving them money is to be discouraged and they are best ignored" from the section about vagabond. I find it a bit disgusting to call upon travellers not to help people who have severe problems. Vagabonds and drunkards often have psycich diseases.

atmospheric cafes

edit

> Enjoy the numerous cafes which are especially atmospheric at night

Which cafes specifically can we recommend as atmospheric? --(WT-en) DenisYurkin 05:06, 9 December 2007 (EST)

Drink

I just deleted "Excalibur" from the bars&pubs list because it was closed a few months ago

Copyedits in one with Wikivoyage style and policies

edit

I am restoring these edits that were reverted without explanation. These edits are consistent with WV:mos, etc.:

  • Spain uses the 24-hr clock, and the format "7pm" is not a format used by Wikivoyage. WV:tdf
  • Compound adjectives as in the phrase "a 25-min ride" require a hyphen.
  • WV:tdf says to use "May 3017" not "May of 2017"
  • €12 not 12€ per WV:$
  • The reversion restored capitalization errors ("restaurants" should not be capitalized here)
  • "4 star hotel", "it should be noted", "located", "recently" - see WV:wta

These are not controversial edits, but I am willing to discuss any of them. Restoring punctuation, capitalization and formatting errors to make some point without explaining what that point is is harmful to Wikivoyage. Ground Zero (talk) 15:18, 15 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

You won't even acknowledge the mistakes you clearly introduced with your edit. I dislike throwing out the good with the bad, but your "copyedits" tend to work 30% by "search and replace" 30% by your overly-strict interpretation of policy, 20% doing actually good things 10% introducing new errors by accident (ironically caused most likely by not giving the "copyedits" a second glance before hitting "Publish Changes") and 10% introducing subtly wrong stuff in the name of "simplifying". I acknowledge that I make some mistakes while editing, as most editors do. I thank editors who correct my mistakes. I reject the notion that it makes sense to revert a dozen corrections because of one or two errors. I have been using "show changes" to review my edits more often, but not often enough. I will try harder. If you don't like throwing out the good with the bad, don't do it. Either fix my errors, or let me know that I have made errors and I will go and fix them. I take responsibility for my mistakes. Ground Zero (talk) 18:11, 15 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
