editI forgot to add an edit summary for this edit - "Go next" is the place for destinations that have their own article. Those shouldn't be in "See". Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:54, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
why merge?
editWhy was this page merged with the India page? Admittedly, there was little information, but as Hasimara has the nearest railway station to Bhutan, it could be turned into a useful article. Also, a new airport is under construction near the town. Surely, we should not merely merge articles just because there is little information, but instead encourage people to fill in the sections. - @Sbb1413:, the section of the article you redirected this to doesn't mention Hasimara at all. A reader who searches on Hasimara will, wonder why they have been redirected to India#Bhutan. Also, knowing that there is a train station at this border crossing is useful information. It looks to me like this article should be restored to this this version. - Thank you. I agree that the town, while not of great significance in terms of sites of interest, the railways station is enough to merit that it has an independent article. Also, as I mentioned, an airport is being built there and so it will become a transportation hub for that part of North Bengal and southern Bhutan. User:SingyeDzong
- I've redirected it to Northern Plains (West Bengal). Sbb1413 (he) (talk • contribs) 14:38, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, the town is better covered by the Northern Plains article, but still it is not mentioned in the article. People travelling to/from Bhutan who want to take an early morning train or arrive late at night may want to spend the night there. Those who are waiting for a train may want to know about the restaurants/chai shops. An airport is also under construction there. I personally feel that due to its role as transportation hub it deserves to be on an independent page.At least that is my personal opinion. User:SingyeDzong
- Changing the redirect to another article that has no information about the town doesn't achieve anything. Ground Zero (talk) 15:51, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- I think the article should either be restored, or the redirect changed to Jaldapara National Park or a nearby city like Alipurduar. Wherever it is redirected to the station listing should be copied, as otherwise a reader is confused as to why they been redirected. It might be hard to have a usable article about here, but it is a big enough place to have a outline with useful get in and probably eat and sleep listings. - Hasimara is 15 km from Jaigaon, and 39 km from Alipurduar. If Jaigaon is restored, then maybe we should merge the old Hasimara article into it. Ground Zero (talk) 18:06, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- I've done that merge. Ground Zero (talk) 14:28, 15 January 2023 (UTC)

- That's a good solution. Thank you. User:SingyeDzong
