"Learn" section moved from article

edit

This section doesn't seem to serve the visitor who's in Jodhpur for 2 weeks or less, so I move it here in case any of this information might be relevant for the "See" section, or perhaps some of these institutions do offer short courses:

There are many options for education, learning and research organisations.

Mehrangarh Fort

edit

Converted large amount of text for Mehrangarh Fort into a See listing thus creating a POI on the maps as this is a very important entry on the page. Appearance is the same as before. - Matroc (talk) 06:31, 27 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Contentless and far-flung "Sleep" listings

edit

From the article:

  • Heritage Hotel Ajit Bhawan Palace, Circuit House Road.
  • Heritage Hotel Balsamand Lake Palace, Mandore Road.
  • Heritage Hotel Fort Khejarla. 85 km from Jodhpur. 40 rooms with elegant furniture, and antiques. The mosaic laid rooms have high ceilings, historical photographs, traditional old paintings, elegant tapestry, beautifully carved furniture and panoramic views.

Is 85 km too far away to list? Please discuss.

Yes, articles are for POIs actually in the destination the article is about, and that hotel is apparently in some other city (list it there instead) or in the countryside (list it in the Jodhpur Division article). Also, I checked out the dynamic map, and there's one hotel (#2) that apparently is about 100 kms northeast of the city as the crow flies. ϒpsilon (talk) 07:09, 25 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I see. Ranbanka Palace is apparently in or near Kuchera. And Khejarla Fort is 85 km outside Jodhpur, so I've moved its "See" listing here, too. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:22, 25 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • 1 Khejarla Fort. Located 85 km. from the main city. Situated in a rural setting, the 400 year old, Fort Khejarla offers guests an enlivening experience. The stunning red sandstone monument is an example of the Rajput architecture. The Fort offers picturesque settings, latticework friezes, and intricate Jharoka. To reach Khejarla from Jodhpur, go 73 73 km Jodhpur Jaipur highway. You'll cross Bhavi village and a railway crossing. After railway crossing go 3.5 km and then turn left, and then go straight for 12 km.
  • 1 Ranbanka Palace, Circuit House 305, +91 291-2512800-03. Check-in: Early check-in as per availability, check-out: Late check out as per availability. The Ranbanka Palace Hotel, which is named after the Rathore war cry –“Ranbanka Rathore“ (the invincible in battle) was built for Maharajadhiraj Sir Ajit Singh ji, younger brother of Maharaja Umaid Singh ji of Jodhpur. Maharaja Ajit Singh built his palace close to Umaid Bhawan, which is now a part of the hotel. Is a good place for a wedding banquet, with 150-course Rajasthani meals, processions of dancers, elephants, camels and horses along with all the traditional music and dances. 80 rooms. ₹2750-₹12999.

Just a quick note to mention that the photos are currently all bunched up in a row and should be distributed more evenly throughout the article per Wikivoyage's image policy guidelines. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:23, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
