Possible budding

As there are countless museum ships and maritime museums around the world, we can consider to bud off this article in the future. We could consider an article for the age of sail only, and one for steam and motor ships. The Ark...

In the interest of fairness, do we include Noah's ark here?

I am aware of the creationist "statement" attraction, but Wikiovyage should perhaps focus more on actual archeology of early vessels from the Near East? ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 10:27, 11 October 2023 (UTC)

At least, there should be a destination which tells something relevant to the subject; could be an archaeological site, a museum or a modern replica. Legend with limited historical evidence can still tell a thing or two about real maritime history; both the Odyssey and Norse mythology are to some extent about ancient ships. Yeah, Noah's Flood is not history but myth. I figure there is probably a historical basis for Middle Eastern flood myths, but we can't consider the specifics in them to be history. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:54, 11 October 2023 (UTC)

We do list Williamstown_(Kentucky)#Ark Encounter and mention the alleged landing site on mount Ararat at Doğubayazıt#Q1267546. I think that is all we need.

Duplicating old voyages

Should we have a section on modern trips following old routes? Some are listed at w:Tim_Severin#Recreating_ancient_voyages & w:Thor Heyerdahl. Could the books be used as guides for modern tourists? Are the boats now in museums? Pashley (talk) 12:36, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
