Talk:Moldavia
The romanian region of Moldavia and the country homonimous, in the North of Romania (cap. Chisinau) ARE NOT the same, althought both places share the same culture.
Flight chart
editWe don't maintain this kind of chart because we don't have the resources to keep them up to date, so I'm putting this here below. Texugo (talk) 14:09, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Moldova Moldavia
editDoes anyone know why, in English, we use "Moldavia" for the region of Romania, which in Romanian is called "Moldova", like the country? Ground Zero (talk) 18:59, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
- Because that's the term most used in English. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:07, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
I was in both parts of Moldova in September. Moldova is the Romanian-language name. Moldavia is the English-language version. But I guess when the republic gained independence, the world accepted its version of the name without translating it. Ground Zero (talk) 09:29, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
- Exactly. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:23, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
Way too many images
editThere are 2 images wholly below the end of the article on my browser, and the images form an unbroken column down the right side, which is not Wikivoyage style (see also Image policy#Minimal use of images). I believe there is room for at most 3 images other than a map. So which ones should remain? I hope for suggestions, but if no-one suggests anything, I will probably plunge forward shortly and delete a bunch of thumbnails. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:07, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
- Romanichthys Valsanicola, you know this region best. Which images are least important? Or, alternatively, which are the 5 or so more important ones? Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:18, 19 October 2018 (UTC)
Regions
editThis region is kind of messed up. It is subdivided into two subregions:
- Upper Moldavia (a skeleton article with 6 existing destination articles)
- Lower Moldavia (no article)
I propose to roll Upper Moldavia into Moldavia region, which would have 8 destination articles. Ground Zero (talk) 11:21, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think we should move the upper moldavia article. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 11:27, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
- Done. Ground Zero (talk) 02:17, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
