Any of these banners usable? Danapit (talk) 09:39, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I think the one with the fall foliage is by far the prettiest. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:58, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
Without every being to the city, I think I like the first one most, as well, so I put it in for the time being. Any ideas from the locals or someone who knows Montreal? Danapit (talk) 10:37, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I do not think any of those really gives the flavour of the old town, stone buildings with a more-or-less European style. The first one is best, very pretty & it does give some of that, but not quite right. Pashley (talk) 12:18, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, this is surely a difficulty of making banners of places I don't know personally. I don't have the feeling for what characterizes the place. Sadly, neither of the two pictures you suggested is not very suitable for making an attractive banner. I will try to do some more search later, there are tons of folders in the Old Montreal commons category. You might give me a hint in which streets to look for, for example. What about these ones, would some of them be worth trying to crop? Danapit (talk) 12:46, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks to Wiki Loves Monuments and Wikimania, we have got gorgeous new banners. Will any of them work? --Alexander (talk) 21:36, 17 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for posting these, Alexander. I would support a change. #52 is my first choice; #51 is my second choice. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:08, 17 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

There has been a long-running effort to shut these down out of concern for animals:

After a one-year ban in 2016, the municipality intends to shut this down permanently at the end of 2019. In the meantime, one more dead horse to flog:
