Talk:Northern Islands Municipality

Merge somewhere?
editThere's nothing here except for a pagebanner, a 2-sentence lede and an annotated list of islands. It seems to me, either the other sections need to get filled out or we should consider where to merge this article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:26, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Would it make sense to convert this into an extraregion since none of the islands in question meet the criteria for WV:WIAA? --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 00:31, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, that would make sense. That way, there wouldn't be a bunch of empty sections. But there ought to be some info about how to get in, even if it's only by private boat, and whether there are any facilities on any of the islands (maybe not, because they're uninhabited). Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:32, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- For sure, but I don't believe there is anything preventing extraregions from having such sections. --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 00:15, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- There isn't. My point is that this article is not of much use without that information. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:16, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- It is isn't a travel article. It is an unreferenced encyclopedia article. Just redirect it to Northern Mariana Islands until soneone finds travel information for it. Wikivoyage:What is an article? says:
- "What does not get its own article? Tiny or sparsely populated villages and hamlets that have no cultural or natural attractions, or hospitality venues. Their names can be redirected to a nearby or surrounding community, or a group of such communities can be covered in a single article."

- I would support a redirect too (since there is no salvageable content to merge). --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 07:13, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- The entire content is salvageable and should be merged to Northern Mariana Islands, which could stand to be longer. I'd suggest putting it under the blue-linked listings of Northern Mariana Islands#Islands. We could turn Northern Islands Municipality into merely bolded black text in that section, so as not to have a circular link, and then put the rest of the information under the list. - I don't think we want to have excessive information about a few outer uninhabited islands by merging everything here into Northern Mariana Islands – simply listing the islands IMO is enough. --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 07:41, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- If we don't want to put all of it in the article, we should at least put it on Talk:Northern Mariana Islands, in case it might be useful later. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:41, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, either that or in invisible text in Northern Mariana Islands. --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 08:50, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
