Regions

edit

I'm inserting regions from [1]. Some of these seem to be cheesy names and should probably be renamed, but it's a start. Comments (and changes!) welcome and invited. (WT-en) Jonboy 10:49, 10 March 2006 (EST)

Fixed up the regions, to clean up that awful cities list --(WT-en) Stefan (sertmann) Talk 22:21, 15 October 2009 (EDT)
Bravo, sir! I'll get to work on a regions map. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 23:22, 15 October 2009 (EDT)
"Upcountry" is very outdated, residents refer to this area as the Upstate. John844 (talk) 12:01, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Does anyone object to changing the name? Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:55, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Cities

edit

Have been chosen by moi, completely arbitrary by geography and how developed the articles were, if anyone has greater insight, please feel free to switch them around, as I don't know the first darn thing about South Carolina. --(WT-en) Stefan (sertmann) Talk 22:21, 15 October 2009 (EDT)

Actually, I looked over these more carefully, and I couldn't have chosen better myself ;) --(WT-en) Peter Talk 15:09, 29 October 2009 (EDT)

Old(e) 96 District?

edit

In the text it is spelled without the e, on the map there is an e. Which is right? Hobbitschuster (talk) 16:22, 6 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

"Cities" section

edit

Per Wikivoyage:Avoid long lists, "Cities" sections in non-bottom-level region articles, including state articles, should have no more than 9 listings. Currently, there are 10, and whereas they are supposed to be alphabetized after the capital, they are not. So which one should be removed from this list?

Also, "Other destinations" should be alphabetized, and Edisto Island should be linked in some way, whether to an article about the island that's created or a section of another article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:16, 7 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

The answer is Rock Hill, which was added in this edit, which also ruined the previous alphabetical order except for the capital. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:06, 8 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Question

edit
Swept in from the pub

Is fair use allowed as I did at https://en.wikivoyage.org/w/index.php?title=South_Carolina&diff=prev&oldid=4806362 ? I had sourced a reference from a copyrighted site, Arkansas Secretary of State. Solaris5296 (talk) 02:42, 10 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

We don't use references, and the fact is easily rephrased to remove any copyright issue. On the question itself, see our EDP: "allowed … Brief textual excerpts …" (i.e. quotes according to best practices). –LPfi (talk) 06:38, 10 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
