Travel section

It does not seem that a Porsche Carrera GT would be the only option of getting into Togo by car. Especially Togo being a quite small country, and may I say one in poverty. Excuse me for I may be mistaken though.

80.88.137.19 07:07, 13 January 2009 (EST)Be aware that the Immigration officers at the airport will charge double or more for a visa, although the price list is posted on the window. I was charged 20 Euros (visa price: 15 Euros) then told that was not enough. When I produced US Dollars, the Immigration officer snatched the $50 out of my hands and threw both the bills under the window. I was told to return after getting my luggage. Upon returning I was informed that I had not paid anything yet and that a visa would cost 30,000CFA (offical price: 15,000CFA). Furthermore, I was asked no less than 4 more times for money from various customs officers so they "Wouldn't have to search my bags." With a welcome like this, why would anyone want to go?

Regions

Togo may look small, but since it extends perpendicular to the coast it covers several different landscapes and has a few major ethnicities. The five regions ([1])that exist are a good way of dividing the country, but I feel five regions is too many for such a small country. So:

• Northern Togo (Savanes & Kara)—savanna and some granite rock formations in the far northwest; Kabye peoles
• Central Togo (Centrale, Plateaux)—rolling hills and forests; mix of Ewe, Kotokoli, & Tchamba peoples
• Coastal Togo (Maritime)—coastal mangrove marshes & lagoons; mix of all ethnicities; this is part of the country the overwhelming majority of tourists see

Regions again

Why do we even have regions? We have only five articles for the whole country, all of which are linked from the country article. None of the region articles have any content. I propose to remove the unnecessary regions until such time as there is more content and more articles. Ground Zero (talk) 21:26, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
