Regions? Disctricts?

edit

I've removed the region list from the article. I think the intent was to create districts instead, but even so, it seems premature for this destination. There does not seem to be so much content in this article that it cannot be kept together for now. As well, one of the proposed districts is described as sparsely populated and industrial, so I'm wondering whether the boundaries are based on administrative divisions instead of something that helps the traveller. Based on the current map in the guide, most points seem to be clustered reasonably close together.

I've copied the region list that was in the article below to help with discussion.

Map of Zhuzhou
  Shifeng district
Shifeng District is the center of Zhuzhou's industry, science and technology, and transportation, connected to Changsha in the north and Xiangtan in the west, and is located in the front of the "Golden Triangle" of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan.
  Hotang district
Hetang District is located in Zhuzhou city "east gate", there are many railroads in this intersection, the lively Red Flag Plaza is also in this place.
  Lusong district
Lusong is the birthplace of Zhuzhou, the ancient name of Jianning, as early as during the Three Kingdoms period, set up Jianning County here, is the beginning of Zhuzhou County. There are many tourist attractions such as Dajing Scenic Area.
  Tianyuan district
It is located in the Hexi area of Zhuzhou City. It is bounded on the east by the Xiangjiang River and the Hedong area of Zhuzhou City, on the south by Guyuefeng Town and Tangshi Township of Bryan Kou District, and on the west by Xiangtan County.
  Lukou district
The Bryan District is a sparsely populated part of Zhuzhou, where most of the industrial companies are located.
  Liling County (city)
Liling, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, is administered by Zhuzhou City. The famous Liling Ceramic Museum and Art Gallery are located here.
  You Counties
Youxian is a county under the jurisdiction of Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, located in the southeast of Hunan Province, in the middle section of the Luoxiao Mountains, the western end of the Wugong Mountains. Travelers who want to go to Wugong Mountain can enjoy a "two days and one night" trip here.
  Challing County
Chaling County is the only administrative county named after tea in Chinese history. Travelers who like tea or want to bring back special products can come to Chaling County to feel the joy of picking their own tea.
  Yanling county
Yenling County is an ancient part of Jingdi, historically known as "the end of Changsha Tea Township", and is the resting place of the founder of the Chinese nation, Emperor Yandi Shennong. Jinggang Mountain and the Mausoleum of Yandi are both located here.

I know, we will continue to improve the content of this area.Lukou district used to be a small county named Zhuzhou, and it is the administrative area of Lukou district which is based on the administrative area of the former Zhuzhou county in recent years. One more question for you, how rich do articles need to be to use the Regions template?thanks. CHENG SHIYI (talk) 12:53, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't think there is any strict level of richness; it's more about what make sense for the traveller and what fits into the geographic hierarchy. Regions are made of smaller regions or cities, which means cities are the main level on the hierarchy (it's where people travel to, sleep, eat, etc). Right now, Zhuzhou is a city in the Hunan region, which is in the South-central China region.
Whether to use a region template for Zhuzhou is really more about the level above it- Hunan. Is it made up of different political, climatic, geographic, cultural areas that each contain distinct destinations for travellers? If so, do we currently have too much content, making each article difficult to use to travel?
On the other hand, a region can contain a huge city which is too large to be covered in a single article; huge cities are made up of districts. The process for creating districts is listed on that page. It begins by considering whether there is already enough content.
For either regions or districts, WV is "flatter" than the real world; this makes the guide easier to use by travellers and easy to maintain. Gregsmi11 (talk) 15:19, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
A further answer is that when there is so much travel-related content about a city that it becomes overwhelmingly long, it becomes time for a discussion about whether to divide it into districts. See Wikivoyage:Huge city article template. But that kind of change is not done unilaterally, but only after a discussion that includes a definition of all the boundaries between the districts and an estimate of how many listings there will be in each district. Cities are not automatically divided into districts on Wikivoyage just because they are populous. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:35, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Right now, I don't think there is enough content to suffice districts, let alone 9, but I'm willing to be swayed otherwise. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 00:29, 22 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

@왕예화, Zhongxxin: I'm concerned that some of the coordinates in this article may not be accurate. On the map, it looks like the Buddhist temple, Shennong Park, and Zhuzhou Automobile Center Station are in the water. How did you gather the coordinates? Is it possible that you were using coordinates from the Chinese coordinate system? Our dynamic maps use the international coordinate system, so it's important to provide latitude and longitude based on that system (you can get the coordinates from OpenStreetMap or by converting them as described here). —Granger (talk · contribs) 15:18, 18 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
