Why needed
editWhy is this template needed? Ikan Kekek (talk) 13:17, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
- It's used on enwiki to insert en-dashes in such a way where a line is never word-wrapped such that it begins with the dash. w:MOS:DASH has some details and examples. It seemed small enough and useful enough to be worth copying here, as I wanted to use an en-dash in an edit. Does that make sense? Nucleosynth (talk) 14:10, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know if it makes sense. We already have the non-breaking space template. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:34, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
- I wasn't aware. What is that template called here? Nucleosynth (talk) 19:58, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
- I never use it, but I've seen it a bunch of times. I can't find it here. Maybe someone else will be able to say what it's called. In general, Wikivoyage tends to like to avoid an excessive proliferation of templates, so that the unfortunately somewhat heavy learning curve for new users here is lessened. I have nominated the template for deletion. –LPfi (talk) 15:36, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
