Yeah - the dongbei part of China is really nice, and the Manchu heritage in particularly is fascinating. Actually, China in general is really amazing. It has such a long history and profound culture. Golmud

Greetings. I compressed the list of cities that are connected to Golmud by public transport because WT tries to avoid long strangling lists of places. While I agree that the article is little empty at the moment, having the 'vertical' list will encourage others to add other places in the same way. And, personally I don't think that the value or clarity of the information is depreciated in any way by being compressed. What do you think? Regarding the name of the station, (Qinghai Huoche Zhan - Jiangyuan Lu), I thought it was a mistake as I assumed Golmud Station would be named after the town, not the province. Mea culpa. I'll restore it. However, I cannot find any info about the bus station, only the huochezhan. Thanks for your feedback and also your great work on the Chinese pages. By the way, do you how the trains to Lhasa from, say, Guangzhou or Beijing, operate? They are advertised as direct trains, but I presume that passengers need to change in Golmud. If that is the case, then how long is the wait, do you know? I think that info would be very useful for travelers, but I have been unable to find exact details. Cheers. Thanks for the info on the Jade Buddha. I cannot see it clearly, but it is probably an image of Sakyamuni Buddha. Guanyin is the emanation of compassion and in the Chinese traditions is usually depicted as a female and has specific gestures [2]. isIn / isPartOf

The isIn template is a bit touchy about formatting. If a place "isIn" a place that has a name containing spaces, you need to replace the space with an underscore: "Kings County" → "Kings_County". Alternatively, just use the isPartOf template instead, which works the same as isIn but does any reformatting automatically. Please, please, please be careful what information you put on Wikivoyage. Your recent edit to Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail was very useful in that the article was needed, and the visitor contact info is both really important and it looks like it would have taken a while to compile—thank you for that. But the text you added to "understand" constituted multiple copyright violations, from sites like [4], [5], [6], and possibly others still. We cannot copy text to Wikivoyage; all text must be original writing or be accompanied by explicit permission to use it under CC-by-SA 1.0. By copying text from other sites, you are not helping Wikivoyage, on the contrary, this winds up wasting other users' time (by creating a need to police contributions), and you possibly expose yourself and Wikivoyage to legal action. --(WT-en) Peter ^Talk 03:42, 26 June 2008 (EDT)
