Hello, Gnomy96! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

Nice work on Kingston Upon Hull, please keep it up! --(WT-en) Peter Talk 16:34, 29 December 2009 (EST)

Really good work on Hull! --(WT-en) Burmesedays 11:41, 5 January 2010 (EST)

Uploading images edit

First, create an account on Wikivoyage Shared [1]—that's our image repository. Second, click "Upload file" on the left hand side of the screen. From there it should be relatively straightforward, especially if you remember to click one of the template links at the bottom of the upload screen (they look like this: {{Imagecredit|credit=|captureDate=|location=|source=|caption=|description=}}) and then fill that out. Remember to specify a license and the author of the photo on the image page!

If you need any other help, Wikivoyage:Copyleft explains how the various licenses work, wts:How to upload files explains in very fine detail how the upload process works, and Project:How to add an image explains how to add an image to an article after uploading it. Please let me know if anything is unclear! --(WT-en) Peter Talk 19:44, 10 January 2010 (EST)

By the way, you can auto-sign your talk page posts by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your message ;) --(WT-en) Peter Talk 00:21, 11 January 2010 (EST)

More accolades edit

Hull is really looking great! After getting it to guide status, I would recommend that you nominate it for Destination of the Month. If you are interested in improving it further beyond guide status, you might want to take a look at the star status criteria, or at other comparable star articles like Hiroshima, Hilversum, or Lausanne for inspiration. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 22:42, 10 February 2010 (EST)
