Hello, 2A00:23C8:8E86:F400:246A:F152:7C9:A988! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.
By the way, have you considered creating an account here? While you can absolutely keep contributing as an anonymous user, it promises a bunch of benefits, and no obligations.
Regarding Belgrave, I find your version takes the life out of the article's tone, making lively language more formal and stuffy. E.g. changing "kids" to "children", substituting sentences which directly engage the reader ("To take public transport you'll need a Myki card...") into something more impersonal ("To use public transport requires a Myki card"), and other repeated quirks like systematically removing exclamation marks wherever you find them. You could argue this is a question of personal taste, but this is an issue which others have raised with your other IPs before, though perhaps you haven't seen the messages because your address keeps changing. You're completely welcome to keep editing anonymously, but it does make communication more difficult.
Now I seem to have your attention, I'd also like to ask you to stop changing US spelling to UK spelling every article you find it. Our policy on Wikivoyage is to use local varieties of English where they exist (so UK spelling in articles about Commonwealth countries, Ireland, and other EU countries, along with some other places). Where there's no obvious preference between varieties, because English has never been established as a local language, US spelling is the default. This is not my preference, but I abide by it because WV:Consensus and community cohesion are more important than being right.
Do let me know if you have any questions or thoughts; I probably won't answer immediately, but you will get an answer. All the best, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 00:06, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
- Since you haven't deigned to respond, I'm going to begin undoing the edits referred to above. I remain happy to discuss, either here or on my talk page. --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 10:07, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
