Hello AirportExpert! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the travellers' pub or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

Please note that lakes don't usually get their own articles (see Wikivoyage:What is an article, but also, if you start an article with just a title, it has no useful content. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:50, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Airport redirects edit

Thanks, these are good. However, the followup would be to find every article where the airports are mentioned and insert the links to the redirect targets. For example, Stewart Airport is mentioned in the New York City and Downstate New York articles, but those are just two articles off the top of my head.

All the best,

Since these are mainly redirects to the "By plane" or "Get in" sections of city pages, is making sure the IATA codes are properly redirected and linked the best way to do this? Thanks, AirportExpert (talk) 21:45, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
My first thought was, to avoid double redirects, I would pipe link like so: [[Stewart Airport|Newburgh (New York)#Get in]]. But on second thought, maybe linking the IATA codes as shown in New York City#By plane is most elegant. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:50, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think that's the most elegant solution for now. Eventually if these airports get their own dedicated Wikivoyage pages, I can work on implementing them the standard way. AirportExpert (talk) 21:54, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Right. Some of these airports will never get their own articles unless they are rebuilt to be massive or there's a policy change on this site. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:26, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
