Welcome

edit

Hello, AnniAriel. I have reverted your edits to the Peru article. Please read , Ground Zero (talk) 02:02, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I did. And I just left you a message about it. I'm Peruvian and very sad you are not giving the right information about my country. I can send you sources about the changes I've made if you want to. Just let me know what are the steps to follow. Thanks AnniAriel (talk) 02:04, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I have reverted your edits to the Peru article. Please read Wikivoyage:Welcome, newcomers, which will help you get started on how to edit in Wikivoyage. Wikivoyage uses its own regional structure for country articles which is based onbwhat is most useful for travellers. This may be different from administrative regions or "natural regions". When you removed the Wikivoyage regions for Peru, you broke the navigational links to other Peru articles. If you think that the regional organizationshould be changed, please make your proposal at talk:Peru. If other editors agree with your proposal, then it can be implemented. Ground Zero (talk) 02:02, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. In the meanwhile, can I add the information without erasing the previous one? AnniAriel (talk) 02:26, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
As you are new here, I think it is best to discuss major changes like this on the talk page first. Changing the regions would be a huge projects because of the internal links and organization. There are ten existing region articles, and you are proposing to replace them with eight new ones. I will ask again if these regions make sense for travellers, or only for biologists. If you want to take a pick to this article in the Spanish Wiki. It's basically the same information. I do understand the rules of Wiki, however it's not okay to block information that is somehow trying to help potential travelers to be aware of what they might find in my country for real.

It's completely OK and absolutely in keeping with site practice to insist on a discussion on Talk:Peru and insist that a consensus is required to change the regional organization of a country on en.wikivoyage. So start the thread and try to persuade us that your proposed changes are most helpful for the traveler. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:05, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

National Parks

edit

The info you added to Peru is useful and interesting, but it really deserves to have its own article, as other WV editors have done for other countries. See the Wikivoyage:National Parks Expedition page for examples and then have only a small link in the Peru country-level article to summarize and point to the Peru national parks as main article. Best regards, Mrkstvns (talk) 04:51, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Also, we simply don't insert inline links to Wikipedia like that. Please have a look at Wikivoyage:Links to Wikipedia. I will delete all of those links now. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:17, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I just created the article. Can you please take a look at it and help me with the editing? I tried to put the link in the main article (Peru), but it doesn't let me modify it. Thanks in advance. AnniAriel (talk) 05:55, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
2 things I noticed right away are that alternating default left-justification and right-justification of images is not in keeping with Wikivoyage style and image policy and that the article lacks a default pagebanner and is a stub (OK, those are 3 things). Could you please insert the code in Wikivoyage:Quick park article template? Also, what do you mean but "doesn't let me modify it"? Please explain what the problem is. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:26, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Let's see: I tried to put up the banner, but somehow it wouldn't let me, even though I checked that it was a licensed image (from Wikimedia Commons). With the images, I didn't take that rule into account, so I will fix it right away. Finally, I was trying to erase the information I put at the start of the article on Peru and add a link to the new article, but when I tried to do it, a message popped up saying it would be considered vandalism. That's why I decided not to edit anything at all and asked for help. AnniAriel (talk) 14:52, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
It was all fixed!! Thanks to you all. AnniAriel (talk) 15:16, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
The article you created looks like a nice start. Are you using the Chilean national parks article as a model? (That's a pretty good looking article, IMHO, and shows how the template is used, how to use a map, format listings, etc.)
You might also want to add a link to your new article on the page National parks (as well as figuring out how to trim the text on the page Peru, adding a link to your new article.
Best wishes, Mrkstvns (talk) 14:48, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot. A little bit of help with some issues on it (I explained it in the previous message) would be appreciated. :) AnniAriel (talk) 14:56, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I took a stab at removing content and creating pointers to Peruvian National Parks. Please take a look and make sure that it looks okay to you and that I didn't inadvertently do something you dislike. Mrkstvns (talk) 15:43, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
