editThanks for dealing with the wikispam attack last night. --(WT-en) Evan 00:42, 7 Jan 2006 (EST)
Korea extlinks
editI've taken the liberty of reverting some (but not all) of your removals of the Korea extlinks -- any sites ending in .go.kr or gangwon.kr are official sites and thus OK. (The articles obviously need templating though). (WT-en) Jpatokal 02:27, 17 Jan 2006 (EST)

Zagreb Pic
editHi. Thank you so much for correcting some of the typos on Zagreb page. However, it seems that you have deleted a picture of the Pavillion o Arts in the process. As this picture is in the public domain and has been published on Wikipedia, I would be very grateful if you could say why you feel it should go. Thanks

StatScript
editThanks for the heads-up -- I'd left the data-fetching bit commented out to speed up debugging last week. It should work now. (WT-en) Jpatokal 21:31, 2 March 2006 (EST)

editI admit the shopping information, on the Bend site, I did copy from another site, but the rest of the information (Sleep) was from my own experiences. So please dont delete my hard work.
Travel2006
editI don't think Trav is an attention-seeker so much as he's attention-deficient. His behavior is pretty consistent with an ADHD kid exhibiting the "hyperactive/hyperfocus" side of the syndrome (a normal troll or vandal wouldn't have fixated on it all day like that). I think what he needs is simple direction he can actually follow (such as "stop editing articles") without the mixed messages about how we're all happy to have him here, here's how to help, how can we help him, etc. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 09:37, 29 March 2006 (EST)
I don't understand
editI seem to have this deep rooted fear of copyvios. Is there anyway you could explain to me what exactly doesn't violate WikiTravel copyright policies? What I'm really confused about is which images we can use if an image is labeled with (a) disclaimer(s) that reads something like the one that is listed here. [1] Thanks for the explanation in advance. (WT-en) Sapphire 15:24, 3 April 2006 (EDT)
- Basically, in that example the author says "you can make use of my work under either the terms of the GFDL license or the terms of the CC-SA license" and it is up to whoever uses it to decide which one to pick. This is called "dual-licensing" since the author is giving you a choice of two licenses.
- Everything uploaded to Wikivoyage must be licensable with CC-SA -- though we have no objection to hosting stuff that is dual or multi-licensed as long as at least one of the licenses is CC-SA.
- So for the image you cited, it's fine to uploaded it to Wikivoyage since it is CC-SA. For attributions, you should add a weblink to the original on commons from the Wikivoyage copy of the image. -- (WT-en) Colin 15:29, 3 April 2006 (EDT)
- Thanks. (WT-en) Sapphire 15:34, 3 April 2006 (EDT)
Tampa revert
editHi Colin - just curious about the reason for reverting this edit. to Tampa. It looks valid to me - was it a copyvio from somewhere, or just an inadvertent click of your mouse? -- (WT-en) Ryan 22:00, 3 April 2006 (EDT)
- Uh... apparently I need to switch to decaf? Thanks for the catch! -- (WT-en) Colin 14:24, 4 April 2006 (EDT)

Statistics
editThanks for once again cleaning up after StatScript... the thing with pl: data not being available is really annoying, I have to hand-hack the script to insert that one value manually and then I always (like today) forget to re-enable the bit that gets fresh data. (WT-en) Jpatokal 22:12, 27 April 2006 (EDT)
- Evan's tipped me off to the raw stats output, which seems to work better -- I'll convert the stats script to use this instead. (WT-en) Jpatokal 22:42, 11 May 2006 (EDT)
- Real Soon Now(tm), that is. <sigh> Thanks for the fixes, once again... (WT-en) Jpatokal 20:53, 15 June 2006 (EDT)
- As you noticed pl: and it: aren't actually collecting real data at all, the values in Wikivoyage:NumberOfArticles for both have to be updated manually as for some reason the {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} builtin isn't working. The raw-thingy should work when I get around to it... (WT-en) Jpatokal 10:14, 30 June 2006 (EDT)
- Arr, I fixed one bug and created another in the process. Thanks for cleaning up after StatScript's mess yet again... (WT-en) Jpatokal 05:41, 15 July 2006 (EDT)

Santa Fe (New Mexico) revisited
edit(Copied from Talk: Santa Fe (New Mexico))
Thanks for the comments. The "substance" part is not a problem -- I've got a pretty good handle on that, although it would be good if someone more familiar with the night spots (not a strength of either Santa Fe or myself) would expand the "Drink" section. I had intentionally left the "musical group" section somewhat terse, as it's a sub-subdivision and the article is already quite long for a city of 60,000. Of course, Santa Fe isn't just any city of 60,000... Please pass by occasionally and see what you think, and help "star-ify" the article as you've been doing. -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 10:39, 6 May 2006 (EDT)
Re: your comments on deletion of Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City overland
editThanks for your comments. I'm all new to wikivoyage. Although I was very enthusiastic at first, it seems to me this place is just as clique-based as any editorialised travel site; i thought the point with wikis was they are for everyone? I've put a fair deal of effort down in an itinerary and now some asshole is trying to have my work deleted, so I guess i'll just contribute my time, effort and knowledge somewhere else. Cheers, (WT-en) Piroco 19:18, 11 May 2006 (EDT)
Shalom Alechem
editWere you the one who was double checking most of Shalom Alechem's contributions? If so I we may want to look into this image which was uploaded to Shared [2]. The image was uploaded by DerFussi, but Shalom Alechem had uploaded it to commons where it was taken from and uploaded to Shared. I believe you had mentioned last month or in March that the source that this image was taken from did not have a compatible license. (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 21:33, 17 May 2006 (EDT)
- Ugh. Yeah, we deleted that one here on English Wikivoyage already. -- (WT-en) Colin 21:47, 17 May 2006 (EDT)

- Nope. I started a discussion over there, but I have no idea how it's supposed to work. I mean, we don't all speak the same language, so it's going to be hard communicating about deletions. Plus who checks messages on shared? How to we find all pages the image is used on? Aiiiiiieee! -- (WT-en) Colin 21:52, 17 May 2006 (EDT)

I went ahead & mentioned the discussion on Shared on the Project:Requests_for_comment#Policy. Hopefully, this we'll figure out something soon. (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 22:05, 17 May 2006 (EDT)
- Did we ever figure out how to take care of the above issue? Also, I'll keep an eye out for user Shalom Alechem. I figure we need to wholesale VFD anything he/she uploads. (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 23:52, 20 May 2006 (EDT)

Working on shared
editColin, are you able to edit "project pages"? I'm working on copying and pasting info from en onto the Shared site to help users figure out their way around the site. I would be extremely thankful if you edit the Recent changes page on Shared [4]. I would like the "Requests for articles" link to be replaced with the "Request for images" link [5].
Thanks in advance. - (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 23:32, 24 May 2006 (EDT)
- It's currently protected. I notice that the en: wikivoyage is only editable by Evan, and I'm not sure why... so you'll have to ask him. -- (WT-en) Colin 23:39, 24 May 2006 (EDT)

editColin, Many thanks for the nomination. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I have been very busy at work preparing a training course.

On Museuipiranga.JPG
editHi Colin, thanks for the comment.
The pic was taken off a government web site, and since all government media are considered public (unless otherwise noted), it's indeed public domain. As someone else noted befored, there's no way to classify government-issued pictures that do not come from the US in the licensing options when choosing, that should be fixed.
Cheers! (WT-en) Mattalves 09:44, 27 May 2006 (EDT)
Parks
editOn a total side-note to the Buses in Israel discussion, I noticed your comment about parks and stuff for kids. Strangely enough, I've been thinking more about travel with kids over the last 8.5 months ;-)... Anyway, I know the Project:Where you can stick it says parks go under "See", where do you think the best place is for "playgrounds" and other kid-resources? Of course, the general stuff should be under See/Do, but I'm trying to think about stuff that might go under 'Cope'.... and what about dining and hotel specific info? I'm thinking about things like trying to find a high chair in Thailand and taking public transportation with a baby (ie in the US you have to have a carseat even in a Taxi). Lemme know if you're interested in starting some talk about this area. (WT-en) Majnoona 22:16, 29 May 2006 (EDT)

Halllooooo
editHey, Colin. I don't know if you got my email, but: Maj, Amita June and I are going to be in the Bay Area next week for a conference, and we'd like to hang out. We've got a tight schedule but we're thinking about going to the Creative Commons Salon on Wednesday night. Would you be interested in meeting before or after on Wednesday evening?
We're going to be in the South Bay for most of the week so if you'd like to hang out for coffee or lunch that'd be pretty fun too. It'd be kinda fun to pick a night out with other Bay Area Wikivoyagers, though.

Question
editIs your "Automated Hotel Entry Generator" up and running? If so, how does it work and how would one go about using it? - (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 02:41, 26 June 2006 (EDT)
- Well, it's basically a script that surfs to the websites of some major hotel chains, and parses their web pages for information about hotels in the US. It then emits some wiki-formatted text that can be stuck into the Sleep section of many US cities. The script takes a week or two to run in order to be gentle to the hotels' websites. I fixed up and reran the script a couple of weeks ago. So the end result is I have a really interesting database sitting on my computer, but no automatic way of making it upload.
- In the meantime, if you have a state or two that you'd like uploaded for you to use manually, let me know. -- (WT-en) Colin 04:11, 26 June 2006 (EDT)
- Wow! I'm seriously impressed. I'd like to use it for Ohio, because I'm trying to get a lot of Cincinnati's suburbs up and running. I'd also like to get some listings for a lot of the bigger cities in Ohio that don't have a great article. I.e. Sandusky. Thanks. - Sapphire
- P.S. Is it possible to use your script for countries? - Sapphire
- Check out (WT-en) Ohio which has 299 Ohio hotels for you. I would encourage you to surf to each hotel as you add it and make sure it looks roughly correct. I'd also encourage you not to reformat the entries -- unless you just have to. My idea is that I save each copy of the hotel formatting that I've uploaded. Future versions of the script should be able to automatically recognize old hotelmaker entries and replace them with updated ones -- but this will only work if the old version is unmodified. -- (WT-en) Colin 00:17, 27 June 2006 (EDT)
- That's great. Just added a bunch of listings to various cities. One thing I did catch and was wondering about is - does your script scrape the websites of Hyatt, Starwood (Westin, Sheraton), Hilton, Accor (Sofitel, Red Roof Inn), Loews, or Radisson? Scraping through Loews, might be a little excessive, but I think Hyatt, Starwood, Hilton, and Accor might be wise. Thanks again. - (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 05:09, 27 June 2006 (EDT)
- In the long run, I want the script to scrape all available hotels that have nontrivial numbers of locations. That's part of why I want to have programs that are loading Wikivoyage with the data -- I'd like to be able to update with a new hotel or better parsing or a new format and have magic happen across all articles using the listings. -- (WT-en) Colin 02:51, 28 June 2006 (EDT)
Hotel listings
editColin: fantastic work with the hotel listings; they look really really good. One thing: the fax part is supposed to be in parens, which isn't a big deal but might trip up a processor sticking too close to the Project:Accommodation listings format.
I realize that this is but a tiny percentage of your immense contribution to Wikivoyage over these years, but I think it's as good an opportunity as any to present you with a barnstar in thanks for your work. I'm embarrassed that it hasn't happened before.
--(WT-en) Evan 20:39, 27 June 2006 (EDT)

- Oh... I guess I was just glancing, but I thought the first one was. Nevermind. :) -- (WT-en) Ilkirk 16:05, 20 July 2006 (EDT)
- Heh. It took me a bit to realize I had to actually click on the hotel pages to figure it out with any certainty. I saw this a lot when I wrote the hotelmaker script -- hotels categorized wishfully where you need to find the actual mailing address to be sure. -- (WT-en) Colin 16:25, 20 July 2006 (EDT)
- I see. I noticed the same user had dropped several onto Nashville as well. I couldn't quite decide about the suburban hotels because they are relatively close and the suburbs are pretty darn boring. I also noticed that this user has touched an awful lot of pages lately... -- (WT-en) Ilkirk 16:27, 20 July 2006 (EDT)

Attribution issues
editThanks for your note on wikia about license issues. Wikivoyage is great - no apparent license issues I know of. My concern is with Wikicars.org, which is a sister site. They have taken content from Wikipedia at BMW and every other car page, and appears to be trying to avoid providing attribution. I told Evan about it already, so I am assuming someone at Internet Brands will do the right thing. Gil

editThis looks like a Project:Edit war in the making. Just wait him out; sooner or later his mum will put him to bed. National pages are a pain... -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 13:54, 25 August 2006 (EDT)
- As it happens, I have some experience with diplomacy -- and I mean real, national-level diplomacy in which I have had to write documents to satisfy cabinet-level people in two countries that were disagreeing with each other. In such things, one learns to write in a way that allows progress. Is "Stalinist dictatorship" a more realistic view of the way DPRK works than "single-party Socialist republic"? Absolutely, and I say that as one who makes a living partly by studying that country. But there are -- will need to be -- abundant places in the text to make it clear that the one is shorthand for the other. We need to do something that allows the contributors to quit ****ing around and get on with that important stuff, namely what the traveler needs. I don't have a dog in the political fight, but we need to craft some language that gets beyond the posturing egos and on to writing actual content. (If that guy thinks his experiences deny that DPRK is run on a personality-cult basis where criticisms can land you in serious trouble, let him work that from a content perspective, but I don't think even he is that otherworldly.) -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 18:20, 25 August 2006 (EDT)
Comments
editCould you comment on the (WT-en) bus section of my Cincinnati sandbox guide? Is it TMI or just enough? I wanted to highlight bus routes which run past a lot of interesting sights, but not every single bus route that operates in the Greater Cincinnati area. Comments and suggestions are appreciated. I've also asked Ryan because I greatly appreciate any advice either of you could offer. Thanks. -- (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 19:20, 30 August 2006 (EDT)
- Since it's a short list of the most useful lines with the significant destinations associated with each line, it seems to me that it is helpful and useful. So I'd keep it. Bentonville Hotel Delete
editThe hotel you deleted from Bentonville, should likely stay. Rogers and Bentonville border each other and I am sure the only reason that hotel exists is because of Bentonville and WalMart. It all may be splitting hairs and to be honest not really that important, but crossover listing from Rogers in the Bentonville listing might be okay. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 14:57, 31 August 2006 (EDT)
Divide and conquer

Fax numbers in hotelmaker
editColin: the fax numbers in your hotelmaker stuff (which rocks, by the way) doesn't follow the Project:accommodation listings format. It'd probably save some time if you make it use the standard format (I think (''[F|f]ax: ...'') is the right way to do it). --(WT-en) Evan 16:41, 13 September 2006 (EDT)
- Long term I've saved away copies of all previously-generated hotelmaker output that was used on the site. My plan is to write a script which is able to go through US articles and replace all previous-generation output with new-generation output. Rather than do this multiple times.... I'd like to see the <sleep> tags fully implemented so that the appearance of the entries is reconfigurable on a sitewide basis.
- By the way... do any hotels have referrer programs? I see no reason why the wikivoyage website couldn't transmute the <sleep> urls to use a referrer program link in order to generate revenue to offset the hosting costs. But only if referrer programs exist.
- Lastly, I should probably provide you with a list of metadata that is currently being thrown away by hotelmaker because there isn't a good place to slot it into the listing. For example, Motel6 has latidude/longitude available, and it'd be nice if I could slot it into some param of the <sleep> tag. Some Marriotts have a "Sales" phone number which is different from the "Phone". -- (WT-en) Colin 18:13, 13 September 2006 (EDT)
Spam
editDid you realize that "Ridesharing" was spam? The IP wasn't trying to constructively contribute to Wikivoyage. I'm switching between DE and EN, but if you see any new articles pop up you may want to double check that it's not spam. They make the font so small you can't see it so you have to click "Edit" to see if what they typed is spam. -- (WT-en) Sapphire 20:00, 13 September 2006 (EDT)
- Grrr spammers. Actually they were positioning them to the left of the visible web page, far offscreen. -- (WT-en) Colin 20:06, 13 September 2006 (EDT)

Protection
editJust FYI, the USA page didn't get protected; the threat of protecting it seems to have accomplished the desired goal. (Incidentally, I'm not the only admin who would have done so had the bickering continued.)
In my opinion this is exactly the kind of situation that the Project:Protected page policy language on edit wars is for. There had been multiple edits and reverts covering exactly the same contentious language, generating nothing except longer and longer "summaries" of inflexible positions that were making it hard to follow the other stuff going on on the "Recent Changes" page. A six-hour cooling-off period for discussion/reflection seems to me like the right response, and I know that I'm not alone in that feeling. Please e-mail me to discuss further, if you wish. -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 16:57, 1 October 2006 (EDT)
- I'm not concerned with this particular instance. I'm concerned with the more general hypothetical. See Project:Protected page policy -- (WT-en) Colin 17:04, 1 October 2006 (EDT)

- Shrug. Protecting a page only works for an edit war, not a vandal, but I don't have any real criticism of the attempt. -- (WT-en) Colin 17:52, 5 October 2006 (EDT)

Alcohol in California
edit(moved from User talk:209.172.75.162)
Are you sure about your statement about foreign passports and driver's licenses as acceptable IDs for alcohol in California? I have purchased alcohol in California several times with a foreign passport or license. Apart from a curious look and sometimes a difficulty in finding the birth date, I was never refused service. Mojave Desert
edit(moved from User talk:209.172.75.162)
Hello, just giving a heads-up in case you read this. You changed the isin for Baker and Barstow to Mojave Desert. We've had a small discussion about whether Mojave Desert should be a subregion of Desert (California) - I think it should, we created it as such - but I'm not sure about moving the cities there. Probably okayfine, but see subdividing section on Talk:Desert (California). Also - it looks as if you've contributed before and know what you're doing, you should really sign up for a named account!--(WT-en) justfred 19:32, 5 October 2006 (EDT)
Writing about Stadiums
editHey Colin! Hmm, having looked through Project:What is an article? I still think the stadium stuff can stay. Old Trafford/Wembley are both massive attractions, and if we were to put their information into the city articles it would make those city articles very long. There's attractions in their own right, really: indeed, the rule page points to Disneyland an one example of an attraction with its own page. I reckon important stadiums also fit into that category. Cheers though, enjoy the weekend. (WT-en) Victor Greenstreet 19:15, 13 October 2006 (EDT)
Kudos
editJust had to leave you something for the speedies. WTG. (WT-en) OldPine 18:57, 18 October 2006 (EDT)
Ski Maps
editHey man,
Regarding the copyright for the ski maps as featured on Tignes etc, yes, my mistake - apologies. On the authority's website they say you can email them to get permission to use them, which I will do in the next couple of days and change the copyright/delete the maps as appropriate. Hope this is OK. (WT-en) Victor Greenstreet 16:10, 21 October 2006 (EDT)
Sorry about the edit conflict there - I took a look at the article, saw an otheruses, and had a cached version of Special:Recentchanges and didn't notice that you had just updated the article. My bad. -- (WT-en) Ryan 02:24, 12 November 2006 (EST)
- I didn't even notice :-) -- (WT-en) Colin 02:28, 12 November 2006 (EST)
Panajachel
editJim, thanks for your diplomatic approach on Talk:Panajachel. It's much appreciated. --(WT-en) Evan 12:26, 16 November 2006 (EST)
What Evan said! Nice job! -- (WT-en) Colin 15:35, 16 November 2006 (EST)
- Evan, Colin: Thanks for mentioning it. I am hopeful the Panajachel anonymous person(s) might perhaps turn into good Wikivoyage editors, if we can get them onside. (WT-en) JimDeLaHunt 23:05, 16 November 2006 (EST)
Hotelmakerbot
editNice job on the bot! I don't know if there's an official policy on the issue or if you have a preference, but when using listing tags I've tried to include empty attributes such as price="" in the hopes that users who have that information will eventually fill it in. At the moment it looks like the bot leaves empty attributes out. The logic is the same idea as including template sections in articles even if there is no data for that section. I don't feel strongly about this, but just wanted to make the suggestion. -- (WT-en) Ryan 23:10, 16 November 2006 (EST)
- Gah. This means it'll need to reedit each article it's gone through so far... but better now than later when it's a thousand articles to reedit. -- (WT-en) Colin 23:47, 16 November 2006 (EST)
- Sorry, didn't mean to make extra work for you, but figured it would be easier to make a suggestion now rather than in a week. As to the default tags, the full list for "sleep" is:
- name
- alt
- address
- directions
- phone
- fax
- url
- hours
- price
- geo
- tags
- Of those, only "geo" and "tags" look optional to me, and it probably wouldn't even hurt to include those as well, but I don't feel strongly about it. I think Evan eventually plans to create some sort of template for adding these tags, in which case this discussion should hopefully be irrelevant. -- (WT-en) Ryan 00:01, 17 November 2006 (EST)
- Project:Listings uses "hours" as the field for check-in and check-out, but since that varies greatly by hotel, time of year, clerk at the desk, etc. I don't think we'd be any worse off if that attribute was left out. -- (WT-en) Ryan 00:44, 17 November 2006 (EST)
- So, on Project:Listings, I've started noting which I think are "recommended" and which are optional. Here, I mean that if the listing doesn't have that info, I don't think the listing's done. I think "alt" is going to be used rarely for English-speaking countries -- only when the hotel has a nickname ("The Old Red Hotel" or something). "Directions" is nice but again will be the exception rather than the rule, and "fax", "url" and "email" are definitely not required. I don't even think checkin-checkout info is absolutely necessary to have, unless the hotel has some extremely strange times that don't correspond to rough standards of late afternoon and midday, respectively. My gotta-have list would be name, address, phone, and price. --(WT-en) Evan 19:18, 10 December 2006 (EST)

Speedy Deletions
edithey cjensen please don't delete my stubs they will grow.
- Don't create nonsense articles until you are ready to add some content. A hotel, a sight to see, something. Also, we've been through this before. -- (WT-en) Colin 14:41, 8 December 2006 (EST)

hotelmakerbot / Bay City (Texas)
editYour hotelmakerbot just changed my sleep listings to the <sleep...> tags in Bay City. That rocks. I need to stop doing this manually. Thanks for the work. (WT-en) Jordanmills 14:19, 10 December 2006 (EST)
Illinois & spanish - I hope my rollback didn't seem obnoxious
editHi Colin, You've probably noticed by now that I rolled back your rollback of Illinois from the list of large-spanish-language-presence states. I hope you don't find the roll-roll-back insulting.
I do think it's reasonable to include Illinois in the list because of the large Spanish-speaking population in Chicago, especially since it's not commonly known. For what it's worth Spanish has also been gaining ground in the rest of Illinois, especially Champaign and Carbondale. -- (WT-en) Mark 16:39, 10 December 2006 (EST)
- It's not obnoxious at all. When I last was in Chicago and Champaign five years ago, I never happened to hear anyone speak Spanish. That's never happened to me in LA. I understand Miami swings even more to Spanish. It just kinda seems to me the whole country has varying influence of the Spanish-speaking immigrants (and that should probably be noted in the article) and I didn't want to wander down the slippery slope of "Salt Lake City has Spanish speaking neighborhoods too". But you know the area better, so if you're sure :-). -- (WT-en) Colin 18:47, 10 December 2006 (EST)
- I agree with Colin here -- judgement should be applied. --(WT-en) Evan 19:11, 10 December 2006 (EST)
DE
editI can't recall if I told you this, but I transfered your hotel maker thing to my user namespace (de:Benutzer:(WT-de) Sapphire/project/hotelmaker) on DE so that information would be readily available for DE users. I don't know if you need to know that for any of your hotelmakerbot plans. -- (WT-en) Andrew H. (Sapphire) 01:40, 11 December 2006 (EST)
Zion National Par
editI restored Zion National Par page created in an attempt to vandalize, because I think it could be potentially useful. I occassionally hit enter one letter too soon and get taken to wrong pages or to the search page. If someone hit enter after typing "Zion National Par" and left off the 'k' at least they'd get taken to the right page. I figure if we can make vandalism useful we might as well. -- (WT-en) Andrew H. Thanks

Paris Edit War
editI think it is time to put a block on our anon user. Your thoughts. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 17:13, 29 December 2006 (EST)
- I have no real opinion. Frankly we can leave the page vandalized for an hour -- unlike the anon editor we will always be here to change it back. Usually anon vandals who are angry give up by now, so this guy is remarkably persistent so it may be worth trying another route (and I'm still hoping he talks to us on Talk:Paris). But I'd definitely go through the nomination process formally. -- (WT-en) Colin 17:18, 29 December 2006 (EST)
