Hello, Dronych! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. --Saqib (talk) 05:35, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
Massive copyright infringement
editHello, it appears that you were and still are copy-pasting material from external websites on massive scale. Please stop your disruptive editing and note down that Wikivoyage takes copyright violations very seriously and you may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you copy pasted copyright text from external sources. --Saqib (talk) 22:13, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for the note. I will pay more attention to copyright aspect. About my last edits (namely, National Parks in Montenegro and Albania and couple of cities in Serbia) - I used information from respective National Tourism Organisations, which are state run so I guessed I was either allowed to do so or they are willing to promote their tourist attractions by spreading corresponding information. Well, yeah, I draw this conclusion solely on my personal assumption, so I think I'll need to ask them explicitly. And thanks for not removing articles and information from them - I'll contact those organisations to check whether they're happy to share their information. And just to add, those places are very off-the-beaten track with almost none available info on the web - so I'd expect and I hope tourist organisations will be happy to let people know about these sights. - When you ask, explain to them what Copyleft is, and inform them that they would have to come and officially inform us themselves that they're OK with their information being copied and pasted onto this site, from where anyone could copy it throughout the web under specified conditions, without further permission from them. - Hi User:Dronych . It does seem logical that a tourist information board would want to spread their information widely. Nevertheless the legal issues implied above actually means that this isn't feasible in most cases. The best course of action is to write the material again in your own words. - You've massively copy-pasted material from plenty of external website since last few months. I'm pretty sure those external website owners won't release their text under a free license so please re-write as Andrew suggested as I'm going to remove the content that you added. --Saqib (talk) 10:57, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
