Hello, Jejumaster! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

How to change content

edit

Hi Jejumaster,

I notice that you have been reversing edits by users. Please note that these edits were done for a reason.

Please goto the Jeju Talk page if you wish to discuss. Please do not revert edits until you have discussed there.

Thanks - --Andrewssi2 (talk) 05:47, 8 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

To add to what Andrew said: Please stop edit warring. Your enthusiasm for the material you want to include is appreciated, but we all need to be collegial here, and when you edit war instead of discussing and reaching consensus on controversial edits, you waste everyone's time. So I have to play the heavy here: If you continue edit warring, it will be necessary to temporarily block your account, which is a pain for everyone. Thanks. I don't understand andrewssi2's baseless guess. Because this text is contents form the foreign web of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. and I'm a web system operator of Jeju Special Self Governing Province's Web site. The average Temperature of 11.7 degrees is true. If you need to check, go to this page 제주특별자치도 외국어 홈페이지 Jejumaster (talk) 07:20, 8 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
The baseless guess' is actually clearly stated in the edit. It is taken from Wikipedia which in turn is taken from the 'Korea Meteorological Administration' [LINK] Since this is very much official from the South Korean government, I'd recommend you have a look at their website. --Andrewssi2 (talk) 07:29, 8 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

source of content

edit

Hi Jejumaster. One issue that other people have had with your edits is that it seems to be directly copied from other sources. I think we would appreciate any personal knowledge you have of Jeju to be added. thanks! --Andrewssi2 (talk) 07:29, 8 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Just to be clear, copying content directly from your link is not allowed. --Andrewssi2 (talk) 07:33, 8 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi. This edit [1] appears to be copied from an external webpage. I notice you have started to edit it to change a word here and there, but you really need to write in your own words and not copy from external sites. Please review the copyleft information, to make sure everything is on the up-and-up. Thanks. --Inas (talk) 04:44, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Jejumaster is actually a site administrator of the external site in question, so perhaps he believes that this is actually OK. Does this change anything? I'm unsure of Wikivoyage policy for this scenario... --Andrewssi2 (talk) 09:54, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I had to revert this edit, because it's copied from an external website [2]. Please contribute to this site using your own words. Globe-trotter (talk) 01:19, 20 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Commons file deletion

edit

I have nominated an image you added to Jeju for deletion at Commons. It's not allowed to copy/paste images from external sites. It's not enough to be an administrator on that site. The website clearly states "Copyright 2007 Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. All Rights Reserved." If you personally have the rights to the content, and are willing to relicense under a free license, that's okay but at least should be specifically stated (and be confirmed by OTRS in Commons). You can discuss the nomination here at Commons. Globe-trotter (talk) 16:10, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Help on Udo Island?

edit

Hi Jejumaster. I understand that you live on Jeju, therefore would you be able to help on Udo Island ?

I believed that there was no justification for Udo to have its own article because it lacked content.

If you with your local knowledge are able to create appropriate content then that would be highly appreciated. < Already reversed edit> --Andrewssi2 (talk) 02:50, 7 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
