Brazil articles

edit

Hi there! Thanks a lot for your help with various Brazilian city articles! I don't know if you have noticed it, but I just wanted to point our Brazil Expedition, a page for organizing and coordinating our efforts to improve Brazil articles. Please have a look, and if you are interested, sign up! Thanks again... Texugo (talk) 22:48, 12 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

São Paulo cities

edit

Hi there. You've been doing such great work on the São Paulo cities lately, so I really hate to ask you to do this, but would you please take the city list on São Paulo (state) back down to 9 cities (and 9 non-city other destinations, if any). You may be able to work some mentions of the others into listing descriptions for individual attractions in the see or do section, but generally in cases like this where there are already sub-districts, we typically focus the Cities section on only the best 9 cities here and concentrate on describing the others on the respective region pages. Mosaico de Unidades de Conservação do Jacupiranga

edit

Hi again. I'm wondering about this entry, since there is no entry for it on WP in either English or Portuguese. The official SP state website gives the impression that the area still contains several separate state parks (I did some translations for them recently on these parks):

Since these parks are spread out over a pretty big area, do you think it would be better to cover them separately? I'm not sure this MUCJ would hold an article together very well, and seems like a designation more aimed at the conservation side of things than at tourism. Having translated the official tourism information for each of these parks, I am sure that there will be enough information to make them separate articles. What do you think? Texugo (talk) 14:53, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Incidentally, on pt: most of these parks already have separate articles. Texugo (talk) 14:55, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Pt: still has an article for pt:Parque Estadual de Jacupiranga all together actually, but I do think these parks could eventually have good separate articles (both there and here). It would I guess be possible to do Mosaico de Unidades de Conservação do Jacupiranga first and then split them later when there is more information in the article, but "Mosaico de Unidades de Conservação do Jacupiranga" is a very long name to leave in Portuguese, "Jacupiranga Conservation Unit Mosaic" is really no less convoluted, and in general I think travellers are much more likely to say vou pra Caverna do Diabo than vou pro Mosaico de Unidades de Conservação do Jacupiranga. I had never heard of the "mosaico" before I saw it in the article. Texugo (talk) 18:33, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
By the way, for now, I just put this red link in the article as "Jacupiranga Conservation Units". I guess we don't need to worry about making 3 separate articles yet, since we don't even have the one at the moment... Texugo (talk) 11:40, 14 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re:Hi

edit

Hi. No, I'm sorry. I taught English for several years in Japan, but I gave it up when I moved to São Paulo. After working at the office from 8 to 6 and sometimes doing more freelance work from home after that, I don't really have the time. And unfortunately I don't know anyone either -- I've been here in SP for more than a year and still the only other native English speaker I know works with me at the translation agency, and also doesn't teach, as far as I know... Wow, Singapore? That would be big move! What would take you there? Texugo (talk) 11:38, 14 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Interesting.. What do you study? Texugo (talk) 17:55, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Pagebanner size

edit

Hi again. Thanks for finding some good images for page banners for places in São Paulo state. Just wanted to let you know that banners have to have a 7:1 aspect and be at least 2100:300px. I cropped the 3 banners you put in (Campinas, São Paulo/South Central, and São Paulo (state)) so now they are the right size... Texugo (talk) 22:43, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Trails in São Luiz do Paraitinga

edit

Hi again. Are the times given for the trails round-trip times or one way? By the way, I drove through the area from Ubatuba to Taubaté yesterday - very nice! Texugo (talk) 20:59, 1 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Cool, thanks... Texugo (talk) 15:27, 2 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hey, that's a beautiful banner you put in this article! Awesome! Texugo (talk) 03:27, 24 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Commons banner categories

edit

Just to let you know, banner images on commons get their own special category. The ones you've added recently are now in commons:Category:Wikivoyage banners in São Paulo (state). Hopefully I didn't miss any. If you upload any new images, it would be great if you could put them in the right WV banner category (or create one if necessary)... Cheers! Texugo (talk) 15:27, 2 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

By the way, that banner for Serra Negra is great! Texugo (talk) 15:27, 2 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Piracicaba

edit

Thanks for your great work on that article! I had never heard of Piracicaba, and now I would like to visit the city someday. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:26, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Repeated banner

edit

Hi! Thanks again for you continuous work on SP destinations. I just wanted to point out that in discussions at Wikivoyage talk:Banner Expedition, we have decided not to allow banners to be used on multiple articles, so it would be best if we either find a different banner for Socorro or find a new one for São Paulo (state). Do you have any ideas? Texugo (talk) 17:51, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

That would be great! Thanks! Texugo (talk) 18:23, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
