Hello Marmadri! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

Thanks very much for your contributions to the Chimoio article, most helpful! One small issue was that we don't usually use inline Wikipedia links: see Wikivoyage:Links to Wikipedia, but don't sweat it and carry on!

All the best,

Thanks. I´ll try.
I have two main issues then.
I would like to change the Image or banner for the page Chimoio. I read that you need to consult this first. Cabeca de Velho is a landmark site in Chimoio that resembles the head of an old man, it is an iconic image. I would like to post this image as banner for the page.
Second...the "Chimanimani National Park (Mozambique)" is a page in Wikipedia but not in Wikivoyage. I read that only an administrator can make that transition possible. Is that correct?
How can those changes happen?
Thanks for your time. Marmadri (talk) 17:24, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
When there's an existing pagebanner and you'd like to change it, the procedure is to start a thread in which you provide thumbnails of the currently-used banner and the proposed replacement on the talk page and ask for people's opinions on whether to make the change. In terms of your second question, are you suggesting creating a Wikivoyage article, which anyone can do, or are you suggesting moving a Wikipedia article to Wikivoyage? Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:01, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I´ll see if I can do that.
Second query...I am not suggesting creating a new one. There is already an existent Wikipedia page titled "Chimanimani National Park (Mozambique)". The issue is that, at least what I read on the Wikivoyage instructions, needs administrator permission to move into Wikivoyage environment. Marmadri (talk) 20:37, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't think Wikivoyage admins have the power to do interwiki moves. I believe the move would have to be offered by Wikipedia. However, if you want to base a Wikivoyage article on a Wikipedia article, that can be done as long as Wikivoyage:Copyleft is followed. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:46, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
So much to learn. Thanks. I am new at this. Marmadri (talk) 22:08, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
We were all new once. Glad to work with you! Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:58, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Nice photo. I'm not sure whether it's got the right dimensions or not. Did you propose it as a banner on Talk:Chimoio? Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:42, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
