Hello, Sam-BJF! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

I had to roll back your Australia edits because we don't allow links to tour group companies, or Wikipedia links. Please check the policies in the email above and feel free to ask should you have any questions. --Andrewssi2 (talk) 06:26, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hey Sam-BJF, I saw your comments on Andrew's talk page about not being able to add links to secondary sources even though you see other places where people have added them. The great thing about Wikivoyage is that anyone can add content and build the guide, but the downside is that people don't always follow our policies and so stuff gets in that shouldn't be here. It is something we expect: we can't expect everyone coming here to read all of the policies before they start contributing. People generally find out how Wikivoyage works by trial-and-error. That's how I learned too. So regular contributors like Andrew and I do our best to integrate new material and keep it in line with the policies. The policies can, of course, be changed - anyone can propose a change on the talk page of the policy. (It's a good idea to drop a note at Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub to draw more attention to the proposed change.) I hope to see more of your contributions to the project.
