Hello, Wikigura! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.
I undid your change to South Asia because it was not clear for what specific reason the map was wrong. Please raise your concern on the Talk:South_Asia page if you feel strongly about removing this map. Thanks --Andrewssi2 (talk) 00:59, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
- Please don't edit war. Wikivoyage maps depict de facto boundaries and do not favour either side's claims in Kashmir. That's core policy for Wikivoyage - the traveller comes first. See also Wikivoyage:Be fair#Political disputes, which cites the Kashmir conflict specifically as an example. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:05, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
- If you continue edit warring, it will be necessary to block your posting privileges. The Indian government can do anything it has the power to do, but it can't decree the de facto boundaries in Kashmir, any more than the governments of Pakistan or China can. We will not publish maps that mislead the traveler and take one side's claims as facts on the ground when they are not. Full stop. The Indian government's recourse is to block access to sites that have accurate maps of the de facto boundaries in Kashmir if they like (and that would be a very unfortunate abridgement of free speech as well as a disrespect for the truth), but no-one can simply delete maps unilaterally on this site, and if that, rather than improving a travel guide for the benefit of travellers, is why you are here, you're in the wrong place and should try to make your partisan argument on Wikipedia, and good luck there. - Hi Wikigura. We welcome constructive edits to this site, but not the prosecution of personal political beliefs. If you think that Wikivoyage is breaking Indian law then I suggest you leave a comment on the Talk:South Asia page to that effect, and feel free not to continue editing this site if you feel that the content doesn't align with your personal values and/or legal obligations.
