Hello, Zache! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.--ϒpsilon (talk) 13:58, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Just trying to figure out how the mapframe POI's are implemented. Eg. how the POI coordinates are transferred to the leaflet(?) --Zache (talk) 14:10, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
When you add a listing an fill in the latitude and longitude, a marker will appear both on the Mapfame/embedded map and the Geo map. The latter opens when you click on an icon in the upper right corner of the article. However for articles to have that icon, it has to be created by adding a geo tag to the article with the coordinates (without the "lat=" and "long=").
If you're asking how it works technically, I can't help. User:Mey2008 and User:torty3 who made the dynamic map feature haven't really been active lately. --ϒpsilon (talk) 14:36, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hello Zache, the template "mapframe" calls a PHP script on an external server. The wiki source page is read and coordinates, POI type, etc. are determined and presented with the Leaflet [1] scripts. -- Grüße, Joachim Mey2008 (talk) 15:05, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
