"By public transport" edit
Re: this edit: To an American, "public transport" has a distinctly British feel. We seldom use "transport" as anything but a verb; the American version of this expression is "public transportation". What was wrong with "By public transit", and is there a way to create a subheading that doesn't sound weird in any standard form of English? Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:00, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- Maybe I've been living outside the US for too long—"public transport" sounds fine to me. I don't particularly care which version we use, so I'll revert my changes. —Granger (talk · contribs) 01:04, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- How about "By public transit / By public transport(ation)" - indicating that whichever of the three phrases best suits the destination is acceptable. I understand that we normally have standard headings, but there is precedence for this where "Cities" is sometimes labelled as "Towns", "Regions" as "Provinces" or "Counties"...--ThunderingTyphoons! - I'm fine with that as long as we don't get people using all three subheadings together in a section. Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:20, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, that occured to me after I posted too. In that case, maybe it's better mentioned in italics at Wikivoyage:Rural_area_article_template.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 13:54, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- Done --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 13:56, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, good solution. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:21, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

Omissions from the template edit
What happened to "IsPartOf" and "outlineruralarea" or whatever? And are we going to have any Geo? If so, how? Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:15, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- Good point – I'm sure their omission was an oversight. I'll plunge forward and add them. —Granger (talk · contribs) 17:48, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- Much appreciated. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:59, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- I also added these missing things. I think we also want this:
- Much appreciated. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:59, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- Rural area is in Region name.
- Don't we? Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:18, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- Added. —Granger (talk · contribs) 16:08, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
Still a draft? edit
I think we've approved and are using this template. Can we delete the "This project page is a draft" template? Also, is there yet a longer discussion of the sections, analogous to Wikivoyage:Small city article template and such? Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:30, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- There is Wikivoyage:Rural area article template; its "draft" template was removed last month. —Granger (talk · contribs) 17:00, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- So it should be fine to remove the draft template here, too. The full template article should be linked, though. I'll take care of this shortly. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:06, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- I see that the full page is not linked from the quick version pages. I removed the "experimental" template. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:14, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
