Not really a fan of either banner, but that's because Civic doesn't have anything interesting or unique apart from skyscrapers (which aren't unique nor impressive tbh). --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:18, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I agree. It's got more greenery and the fountain over the lake, and the photo quality looks better at pagebanner size. Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:20, 2 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Actually, the only reason that I could think of not using 1 was that lake. Civic only covers that small hexagonal shaped portion of the District of Central Canberra, and Lake Burley Griffin (the lake depicted), is sort of a borderline case of whether it's in North Canberra or South Canberra. But overall, I do like the greenery (and that's why Canberra is colloquially called the bush capital), and it's much more interesting and superior to boring tall buildings. Rename to Canberra/Civic?

edit

While the official name of this district is just called "city", I think "Civic" is slightly more common than city and per our policy to use the most common name in English, I think Civic is a better name for the district. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 12:25, 27 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

The "Districts" section

edit

For reference, it's meant to resemble something along the lines of Sydney/City East. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 05:06, 13 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

dotm?

What is needed before this is nominated for destination of the month? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 08:27, 13 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Should the eat section also be divided into subsections (e.g. a separate section for listings in the centre, City West, City East and so on)? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 10:05, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

"Clothing stores" section

The second sentence is incomprehensible waffle. Could somebody with knowledge of skiwear prices and outfitters please improve? VH-IOQ (talk) 23:49, 8 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand what's confusing about it (I didn't write it, FTR). --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 00:44, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
What is "a bit more expensive and cheaper"? The parenthesis is totally incomprehensible for me: if the chains left, why would you worry? What is a store with a tendency for slack? The latter may be my not understanding jargon, but the rest is hardly only me. –LPfi (talk) 11:45, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I agree with LPfi. Maybe it's a gap between Aussie English and other forms of English. We should aim to write for an international audience. Ground Zero (talk) 12:05, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
