Red-linked county list from article

This serves as a useful reference if anyone would like to mention that these are the counties covered in this region, but I have trouble understanding why we should have this in the article:

Regions

• Chenango County
• Cortland County
• Herkimer County
• Madison County
• Oneida County
• Onondaga County
• Oswego County
• Otsego County

They do need to be listed somewhere. They were linked under the (quite accurate) assumption that the region would eventually need subregions. Powers ^(talk) 23:30, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

If you feel sure of that, please go ahead and put them back into the article, but I don't like having an entire set of region listings that are all red-linked. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:17, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

I don't know the place nor much about it, but are counties really the best subdivision if and when one should become necessary? Also: The current article could need expansion before it needs subdivision... Hobbitschuster (talk) 06:50, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Counties may or may not be the best subdivision. They work well for some regions of New York, but not all. Certainly it's not necessary yet. Powers ^(talk) 17:28, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Banner - Taughannock Falls?

The current banner (File:Central New York Wikivoyage banner.jpg) apparently shows Taughannock Falls, but Trumansburg (the Falls' location) is in the Finger Lakes. Am I missing something? Powers ^(talk) 01:13, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

The banner looks to have been brought here from he.voy's CNY region page, which uses Image:Central New York.png as the region's boundaries. It's entirely possible that en.voy divides the state differently (there is a Finger Lakes region in he.voy, but it's an empty skeleton), or that this is simply an error imported from the other language? Red links in "Cities" section

I've never heard of Clay, but from its Wikipedia article: "As of the 2010 census, its population was 58,206, making it Syracuse's largest suburb." My question would be, should we have a Wikivoyage article about it or cover it in the Syracuse article?

And what about w:Oneida? The county is important, but does the town merit its own article? This seems relevant:

"Recreational waterways such as the Erie Canal and Oneida Creek are located on the perimeter of the city limits. City parks are distributed throughout the city, with the exception of the rural Mount Hope Reservoir park. Oneida has 10 public tennis courts, seven of them lit, and more than 100 acres (40 ha) of public space used for organized youth sports. Also available are fishing, hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, and a winter ice skating rink.

Oneida is centrally located on the New York State Canalway Trail System, a network of more than 260 miles (420 km) of existing multi-use, recreational trails across upstate New York, with major segments adjacent to the waterways of the New York State Canal System.

The Main-Broad-Grove Streets area was designated as a National Historic District in 1983. The Oneida Community Mansion House is highlighted on the Madison County Architectural Heritage Trail."
