Talk:Japanese national parks

Name
editI'm going to change the name of this article to Japanese National Parks as this follows the naming scheme of Finnish national parks, African National Parks and Canadian National Parks (along with all others), I'm willing to change it back if one presents good arguments. - It sure does. And then there's New South Wales National Parks, United States National Parks and so on. Thanks for moving this outlier. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 05:42, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

- And I don't know if it's just me, but "National Parks of [name]" seems more wordy than "[name] National Parks". SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 05:58, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

what does the description for Bandai-Asahi National Park mean?
editI'm confused on what it says. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:13, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- It’s a list of places that are in the park. Most Japanese NPs are too large to only have one article look at Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park for an example of the best method of handling some Japanese NPs. I do think it would be better to have prose descriptions rather than list descriptions though. Tai123.123 (talk) 17:55, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- I copyedited it, but please adjust if I've gotten anything wrong. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 23:57, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
Banner
editCurrent is nice, but it is used on Mine. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 05:32, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- I like the current one better. If it's used on another article and we need to change it, then in my mind, a good banner for Japan's national park article would feature some unique or interesting nature that is a bit more distinguished and not Mt Fuji. I thought of Mount Aso's crater at first, but I'm not sure the ones that exist are good enough. Kamuiwakka Falls in Shiretoko would be nice if there were better pictures available. I don't know if these pictures can be turned into banners or if they will look good once cut, but some that I thought might look good are This one from the Oki islands, Maybe one of these [1] [2] from Shiretoko? - I prefer banner 1. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 11:07, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- 1 is the better banner but I agree with ChubbyWimbus that it would best if this page had a banner other than Fuji San. Tai123.123 (talk) 18:31, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- Done. But, what's wrong with Mt Fuji though? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:16, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- Cause its by far the most famous piece of Japanese nature, I'd rather feature something more obscure but still beautiful like Shiretoko or Aso. Additionaly Mt. Fuji is not representative of other parks which usually either consist of more standard mountains or water. Tai123.123 (talk) 14:20, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
