Alternative banner for this article?
editI created a new alternative banner for this article (I initially created it first and foremost so that it would be used at the top of the parallel article in the Hebrew edition of Wikivoyage, yet I later decided to also suggest that the English Wikivoyage community would consider using it here as well). So, which banner do you prefer having at the top of this article? ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 04:22, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- I don't feel strongly about this but do support the change because the newer banner is a better photo. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:46, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- The new banner has more light in it, which is a desirable trait in banners if I understand policy correctly... Hobbitschuster (talk) 08:02, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- Both banners are really great, too bad CDG has more picturesque angles to it than many other major airports bundled together... I am also very partial to the old Terminal 1, so can't help but like the proposed banner. That said, how about experimenting a bit with saturation to make the picture nicer? PrinceGloria (talk) 14:13, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- Again, this is the best I could do with what I had available. You are more than welcome to try experimenting a bit with saturation to make the picture nicer. ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 14:16, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- There. Uploaded locally, please move to Commons overwriting as new version if found better or delete if not. PrinceGloria (talk) 15:08, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- In my opinion, the colors in PrinceGloria's suggested banner are too significantly amplified. I prefer banners that have the true colors. ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 15:15, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- I have no problem with the current banner, but I do like the new banner with PrinceGloria's saturation edit slightly more. It's light and geometrically interesting. Danapit (talk) 18:05, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- Proposed with PrinceGloria colors. Both are low-resolution though Syced (talk) 07:47, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
"Destinations" chart
editI would normally summarily delete this kind of thing, but I'd like to give Albanbruchig a chance to move any of that information to Wikipedia first, if it's not already there. We long ago made a decision at Wikivoyage not to maintain these kinds of long lists, and to leave them to Wikipedia, which has way more users, and to the airport websites themselves, which usually have up-to-date information of this kind. It's not user-friendly in this format, and I wouldn't expect anyone to rely on Wikivoyage for the most up-to-date flight information. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:07, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
- Strongly agree. At an airport like CDG I would imagine several destinations are added and discontinued every month, and therefore the list would start going out of date quickly. We don't have long lists of destinations, but rather describe in general terms from where there are flights. The exception would be very small airports with just a couple of destinations. - OK. Thanks for the info. I am sorry and wasn't aware of that. I will remove it. Albanbruchig (talk) 16:29, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
- It's quite alright! Only a desire to be helpful would have led you to create and publish such a chart. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:37, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
