Talk:Ruili
Scope of article
editI have removed a lot of text that shouldn't be in a Wikivoyage article.
- Wikivoyage is a travel guide, not an encyclopedia. It should give the reader an introduction to the city, and not provide data on size or administrative history.
- Information about the Kunming Airport and metro should be in the Kunming article, and not repeated here.
- We don't need to tell readers things that are obvious -- travellers understand that sleeper buses are convenient for travelling at night.
- Avoid repeating information.

- Since there is no direct station to Ruili, I need to transfer through Kunming station, so I added the GPS and information of Kunming station. Do you think it needs to be deleted? I will delete duplicate information and obvious information. Please tell me what part of the article belongs to the encyclopedia and I'll look it up again. - Kunming is not in Ruili, so you shouldn't be giving the geographic coordinates of Kunming Station and having it appear on a map that's supposed to show places in Ruili. There's also no good reason to have a full listing for Kunming Station in an article that's not about Kunming. Instead, you should simply mention that people traveling by train from other cities need to transfer through Kunming Station, and you can link to Kunming#By train. I don't know if you've specified what you mean by "transfer," but make sure you indicate whether that means to take a bus or whatever. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:46, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- Exactly correct. Ground Zero (talk) 16:26, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

Constructive Feedback
editI believe the content on Ruili’s Wikivoyage page is quite comprehensive. The combination of text and images works very well, with maps and climate charts giving us clear insights into Ruili’s location and weather conditions. Various sections provide a broad overview of Ruili’s history, geography, economy, and culture, making the page well-rounded for readers. As a suggestion for improvement, I recommend adding more website links to enhance the page’s accuracy and engagement. Guoying1 (talk) 04:40, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
Evaluation of the Article
editThe layout and image placement in this article are very aesthetically pleasing, and the citations are highly accurate. The content accurately translates and presents background information and the definition of Asia-centrism, drawing on various academic sources to support the argument, which ensures the article’s comprehensiveness. The references are very thorough, and the overall structure is well-organized. As a suggestion, I believe the author could include perspectives from different scholars or theorists on Asia-centrism to enhance neutrality, and add specific case analyses to illustrate how Asia-centrism manifests in different cultural or historical contexts. - Did you mean to post this on Wikipedia? Otherwise, what are you talking about? Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:20, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
- @WANGYIZHE1124: Really? (from gptzero) It's disrespectful to say the least, otherwise plain rude to let AI write on behalf of you. --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 08:48, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Jihaiyun: has not corrected the formatting errors that I identified on the article's talk page and on their talk page almost two weeks ago. I am sure that your professor will see through the obvious attempt to help out your friend. Ground Zero (talk) 09:04, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
- @SHB2000 Which tool did you use to get this report? And yes, AI generated text like this won't count for course credit. Hanyangprofessor2 (talk) 08:25, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

- I commented in the wrong place, I think this act offended the author, I hope to delete this comment WANGYIZHE1124 (talk) 14:42, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your clarification. There is no harm done by leaving the discussion, with your clarification, here. Ground Zero (talk) 14:47, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
