Tone edit

What's with the preachy tone of this entry? The respect section has some good points, but snarky quips and entire paragraphs about the virtues of giving someone a used shirt seems pointless.

Map outdated edit

The map of Vanuatu from the CIA Factbook is out of date; I have this from a Vanuatu local who pointed out several problems with it, though I can't recall what they are. (Perhaps he'll pipe up with details.) Does anyone have a more recent/correct map? --(WT-en) Skud 18:59, 15 October 2007 (EDT)

I've done a little looking and can't find a map that differs from this one (aside from having more/less info). The latest version of the CIA map is identical (except for the cropping and relabeling to "Vanuatu" that I did). - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 19:37, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Port Vila or Port-Vila edit

Hi All; not sure if this is the place to say so, but should the Port-Vila entry really have a hyphen? Even throughout the Vanuatu article, it is referred to as Port Vila (with a space, not a hyphen), so just wondering why it has been given a hyphen in the links? (WT-en) BadJelly123 23:32, 22 November 2009 (EST)

You are correct, there is no hyphen.

too many layers edit

Dividing Vanuatu up into administrative districts does not seem very helpful as it results in a lengthy hierachy of pages that are offputting (particularly as most are empty). For a country the size of Vanuatu to have a hierachy of, for example, Vanuatu, Sanma, Espiritu Santo, Luganville does not seem useful when all most people will be interested in is Luganville. In Tonga we have reduced the hierachy to Tonga--Island Group. Why not the same for Vanuatu? (WT-en) Shep 16:04, 9 September 2010 (EDT)

Nobody had a comment about this in 2010. What do people think now? Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:44, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
I do not think we need two region levels below Vanuatu. One level of regions should be enough. --Traveler100 (talk) 09:41, 16 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Port Vila edit

Very populated and polluted Tawiiii nmo (talk) 09:37, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you want to say more about the city, don't say it here, where very few people will see it; edit the Port-Vila article as appropriate. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:43, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Currency, time and spelling conventions edit

Below is a proposed infobox to let readers know which formatting conventions to use in Wikivoyage articles. Do you agree with these proposals? If you have direct knowledge of what is most commonly used in the country, please let us know. Ground Zero (talk) 16:46, 9 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
