Hello, 178.255.152.117! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

By the way, have you considered creating an account here? While you can absolutely keep contributing as an anonymous user, it promises a bunch of benefits, and no obligations.

thanks for the updates at Rio de Janeiro --Traveler100 (talk) 12:12, 3 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Do not copy-paste from Wikipedia

edit

Please, it's essential to remove all text copy-pasted from Wikipedia in Achen Valley and any other article where you did that, particularly if you didn't cite your source in an edit summary. It's essential to respect copyright, and moreover, Wikivoyage and Wikipedia have different goals and style. In rare cases, it's OK to copy verbatim with credit, but Google heavily penalizes sites with too much unoriginal content, so keep the direct quoting to a minimum, summarize or write good paraphrases, never copy over the footnote numbers, which are useless here, or links that are not relevant to this site, and cite your source in an edit summary or a post to the relevant page's talk page. If you have any questions after you've read this post and the links I gave you, please ask by posting a reply below, and thanks for all your work to improve articles on this site!

All the best,

Which text are you referring to? None was copy-pasted from Wikipedia without rephrasing. —The preceding comment was added by 178.255.152.117 (talkcontribs)
Untrue. At least the text I removed in this edit was absolutely 100% verbatim. And besides, even if you paraphrase or summarize, please mention your source in your edit summary. Also, please sign posts on talk pages by typing 4 tildes (~) in a row at the end. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:07, 20 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
That's obviously an error, since the text has been paraphrased in the paragraph above. It seems I forgot to delete it. —The preceding comment was added by 178.255.152.117 (talkcontribs)
I'm glad you didn't mean to do that. However, I'm sure you can understand that I don't know your work enough for it to have been obvious to me that it was unintentional. Lots of people copy large swathes of text from Wikipedia and other websites without realizing there's anything wrong with it, so admins and other long-term users have to tell them. (And again, what I said about signing posts on talk pages. Thanks.) Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:23, 20 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Tyrol

edit

Would welcome your input at Talk:Tyrol#Sub-regions - ideas on options on how to define sub-regions cleanly. --Traveler100 (talk) 16:29, 22 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
