Cooch Behar

Nice work on Cooch Behar. I hope it can gain the nomination for Off the Beaten Track Destination of the Month. It's a nice little city with a lot of charm. SingyeDzong (talk) 17:14, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

That's true. Thanks!! 2006nishan178713t@lk 17:23, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Siliguri

Great work on the Siliguri article. But, as you noticed, I returned Planet Mall to the listings. It's a huge and modern mall filled with pubs and cafes. It won't close down. If it does, many of Siliguri's cool generation will be very upset. HAHA SingyeDzong (talk)

Lol! I had visited Planet mall in 2019, but today while putting geocodings in listings, I saw that planet mall was listed as permanently closed in Google Maps so I thought due to COVID it had went bankrupt and stuff.2006nishan178713t@lk 16:12, 9 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
No, it's still blasting love music and serving good coffee. SingyeDzong (talk)

Empty fields in templates

Hi, 2006nishan178713. I notice from this edit that you are deleting unused fields from listing templates. Please do not do that. Thanks a lot. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:58, 12 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Welcoming users with zilch contributions

Hi 2006nishan178713, I noticed you welcomed a user with zero contributions. We don't usually do this as we don't know what their contributions will look like – vandalism or good faith. OTOH, we generally wait for one edit and then welcome them. Thanks. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:02, 19 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Okay! Got it 2006nishan178713t@lk 08:58, 19 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wikivoyage:India Expedition

I was wondering if you might want to add your name to Wikivoyage:India Expedition (they need some updates as well). They function similar to Wikipedia's WikiProjects. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:23, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have already added my name. 2006nishan178713t@lk 08:35, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh I didn't notice that. Sorry about that. But that page has some stats which are out of date, especially given the new articles and upgrades. I was wondering whether you could update those. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:42, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
No worries! I will check them out in a while. 2006nishan178713t@lk 08:44, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for updating them :-) It's nice to see more and more articles added to Wikivoyage's total article count and more get upgraded to guide and stars. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:54, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

NOCC edits on Public transit in Israel

Asterisk numbers inside Israel must be dialed as written unless stated otherwise. Dialing without one or with any prefixes will result in an invalid number operator message. Same applies to special and toll-free numbers, which do not need any country prefix and are inaccessible from abroad. --Arseny1992 (talk) 09:21, 27 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Okay 2006nishan178713t@lk 09:22, 27 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
I guess the same may apply to most pages in Category:Listing with phone format issue‎‎ and Category:Listing with phone missing country code, according to the category description, so I'd suggest to check twice before doing such edits to pages that were contained within these. --Arseny1992 (talk) 09:51, 27 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
most of the places were of Nigeria where putting the country code was applicable. 2006nishan178713t@lk 09:53, 27 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Space centres and flight-sites in India

Hi 2006nishan178713, was wondering if you know of any space centres, space museums or flight sites as part of the ISP that could be added to Space and Space flight sites? The sole requirement would generally be that an ordinary traveller can visit them, not restricted to a place that is only allowed for those who are authorised. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 05:16, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

Thanks for the updates. Seems the German Wikivoyage article is out-of-date, but unfortunately many of their articles have that issue but they remain the only useful other language Wikivoyage to have a global coverage (apart from the English Wikivoyage). --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:07, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes, also the black market thing. I have never heard of a black market for DHR tickets. Yes, one can pay some bribe to the railway officials to get a ticket, but I won't consider it as a black market.
The webpage says that the track maintenance is still ongoing, but I have some friends who had visited Darjeeling through that route a few months back without any hassle. 2006nishan178713t@lk 11:22, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Looking forward to the updates – do hope it can be an ftt one day. With that said about de.voy, the German Wikivoyage does have some very useful information as they have a larger range of itineraries than we do. I created Anne Beadell Highway and all of it is purely just a translation from de.wikivoyage with some copyedits. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:26, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Surely will try to make it a ftt 2006nishan178713t@lk 15:07, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Banknote colours in India

I see you changed the banknote (is India using "bill"?) colours "as per the Mahatma Gandhi New Series set of currency". How fast is the turnaround? I'd think there are still old notes in circulation; shouldn't we keep a mention of them not to confuse travellers? If the old bills aren't legal tender or are expiring, we should have some warning. –LPfi (talk) 10:57, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

The old Mahatma Gandhi Series has been mostly replaced by the Mahatma Gandhi New Series. Most people use the newer banknotes. Old notes are legal tender and are not getting discontinued but their printing has stopped. The usage of older banknotes is low.

Not to be confused with Mahatma Gandhi Series and Mahatma Gandhi New Series 2006nishan178713t@lk 11:03, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
[edit conflict] Ah! I looked at the diff, so didn't see the infobox. Still, I think we should have a short notice in the text, and perhaps even "(stone grey/brown)" or similar. It is sometimes hard to know whether a certain colour matches a given colour name, especially if the banknote is worn. –LPfi (talk) 11:06, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah a bit of warning in the "The money that isn't" infobox would be helpful 2006nishan178713t@lk 11:09, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
[edit conflict] I think this needs a bit of clarifying also in the text. If somebody gives you an old note as change, you should know whether to take it or say you'd prefer a modern banknote (calling them out for trying to scam you may usually not be the best approach). It is confusing to have old legal tender, expired notes and new notes. –LPfi (talk) 11:13, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Putting a strikethrough can be interpreted as the note in that color is discontinued. It can be some thing like this (Stone grey/brown) 2006nishan178713t@lk 11:11, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Before the list of notes we could explain the code: "(old/new/expired)". –LPfi (talk) 11:13, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Anyway, I don't know the different series and their relations, so cannot really help in what to say, just that it looks increasingly confusing. –LPfi (talk) 11:15, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
That's alright, I will put it in this form - (old/new) 2006nishan178713t@lk 12:51, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

LintErrors

Thanks for the revert, Now perhaps you'd like to repair your user page so it doesn't show up in the results here? Special:LintErrors/misc-tidy-replacement-issues ShakespeareFan00 (talk)

@ShakespeareFan00, if it is an important linting issue, you can definitely fix it, but you must always notify the user before changing anything on their subpages. 2006nishan178713t@lk 14:18, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Noted. I'll revert the good faith efforts made previously, until someone with suitable authorisation can verify they were in fact the correct repairs. Do you want to raise this at the Pub, because other than User (and talk namespaces), Wikivoayeg is mostly de-linted thanks to some efforts I made earlier today.
